wow, the world really is black and white to you,
but thanks for all comments,
my child did take what was said to heart,

If your attitude is so dogmatic you are likely to find yourself in difficulties for a long time.
What happens when friend A has a new coat that your child fancies? Oh, rush out and buy one the same, whether needed or not.
Oh, heck friend B has been earned a higher grade for a project in school!

Come on, as part of growing up children need to learn about life. That includes coping with jokes, as well as being quiet and paying attention to the teacher.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
There are two kinds of parents in this world these days.
Parent one:
Child: "Mum, teacher said she'll cut my tongue off for talking"
Parent: "OMG that's a disgrace i will go down there and i will have words as that teacher is bad!"
Parent two:
Child: "Mum, teacher said she'll cut my tongue off for talking"
Parent: "Well if i find out you've been talking in class i'll do it myself!"
Guess which parent has the harder life once playground arguments begin, along with the most enemies for other parents
Spot on !:T Some people just have to learn the hard way, dont they!
She will be coming home next saying, the teacher said if the wind changes, her face will stay like that! And the mother will be straight down to the school,as her child is taumatised!:rotfl: A sign of the times, im afraid0 -

i'd be asking why she was talking when the teacher was talking?0

This is exactly like what one poster said about the wind changing. It worked for me for a long time :rotfl:. I was only scared at what might happen if I didn't oblige, rather being scared of the phrase itself. You get me?
In the world according to taxi, there no such thing as right and wrong but rather what works and what doesn't work.
So did it?more dollar$ than sense0 -

my dd is a little sensitive at the best of times, and certanlty will take things quite literally. Any one else a bit shocked by this??
My teacher stuck sellotape(sp?) over my mouth when I was 6 as I was a right old chatterbox - can't say that 22 years on it's scarred me!
I went home and told my mum - and got another shouting at for not behaving in class :rotfl:
My DS, 4, is exactly the same in class, yap yap yap...Avon Representative October 2010: C16: £276 :T C17: £297 :j0 -
I recall my first ever primary teacher when I started school 31 years ago  slapping me on the leg because I was sitting on a chair with one leg crossed over the other (lots of pics like this of me a child - very ladylike but apparently very bad for the circulation)
I was upset and embarrassed by it and can still remember it quite clearly.
Told my mother and I don't recall her showing much reaction at the time - however have since discovered she went straight to the school and tore strips off the teacher
Sorry quite random there but other poster's experiences made me suddenly think of that and wonder what on earth would happen if a teacher did that now!0 -
one of my dds teachers says that when you're meant to be sitting on the carpet the rest of the room has invisible monsters in... oddly enough, no one wanders off! She's a brilliant teacher though, i've helped in her lessons and all the kids love her, monsters or not!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession

I remembered earlier today, that when i was a child my nan told me if i stuck my tongue out that a blackbird would come and peck it off!"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of."
