a bit shocked by teacher

Some parents are just bonkers where their little darlings are concerned. I'd very loathe to accept without question things six year olds report back about almost everything. Imagine the kind of stuff the kids tell the teachers about what goes on at home. If the teacher believed everything, there would be an awful lot of parents answering questions down at the police station. Some mums need to lighten up and let go for five seconds0

my grandson is ASD one of my twin grandkids are also possibly ASD and for those who dont know ASD is Autistic Spectrum Disorder. these kids take EVERYTHING you say literally. so do most six year olds. I would have a word with head teacher telling them the kid took it literally. then see how things go.
If the class teacher had kids in the class with this kind of condition then that would be a different issue. The OP does not refer to any child, much less her own, as having this type of issue.0 -
and just in case liney doesnt get it 'I was just taking you literally'0

no offence meant liney - by the way - am a 4th level psychology student with OU and tbh while infants are good at reading body language - they do take things 'said' literally it takes time to integrate both body language and aural skills0

Sometimes, in order to teach children you do actually have some quiet. Some children need reminding of this constantly, over and over. You may have lots and lots of children in your class that need reminding over and over. All day.
No, the teacher shouldn't really say something like that. And, believe me, I've wanted to say worse. Sometimes you resort to saying like that. It's not good but it is understandable.
