Watched the Blind Side (my first freebie) today and absolutely loved it. So what happens now.....? Do I have to fill in any forms or tell the world about its brilliance. I feel I must have to do something for this freebie. Why do they do this for us? And when's the next one.....?

I loved the Blind Side too. At first I thought it might be boring when she kept talking and nothing had happened... but it was great. A real feel-good film.

I liked the bit when Sandra Bullock grabbed the short footballer and called him 'Oompah Lumpah here is SJ'.

I had tickets to see The Blind Side today. Didn't need them in the end - the Dvdrip and Bluray copies were leaked yesterday. Just finished watching the Blu-Ray and would highly recommend this movie to anyone. Very well done and gotta love SJ!
  • We saw 'The Blind Side' this morning in Greenwich, and the 'Buta' concert this evening at the Royal Festival Hall. Both venues were highly enjoyable.

I saw The Blind Side on Sunday morning and was very impressed by Sandra Bullock's performance which can sometimes be caricature ish in some films. In this she was more restrained and I can understand why she has been Oscar nominated. I enjoyed the 'non acting' that Quinton Aaron did at the start of the film, conveying nearly everything with a look rather than words. SJ - Jae Head is a star in the making and hopefully will go on to become an accomplished adult actor. The rest of the cast also gave very good performances.

I admired the supportive behaviour of Michael's 'family'. At one point the film seemed to be coming to an end but when I checked the time it still had approx 20 minutes to go and the ensuing scenes angered me. Why on earth should someone's educational choice need to be investigated.

The phrase 'feel good film' is over used and incorrectly used far too many time in my opinion, however I described The Blind Side as precisely that when talking to a friend later. The info given at the end about the real life people was wonderful, especially the one liner relating to SJ LOL. I was amazed at how much alike Qunton Aaron is to his real life counterpart that at first I thought it was the actor still. Even Kathy Bates resembled Miss Sue.

I had a lump in my throat at the end of the film and needed to dab my eyes but I also had a great big smile on my face. I enjoyed it so much that if I have nothing on that night, I may well see it again on March 22nd. :)

    I LOVE YOU PHILIP MORRIS

    Certificate 15

    TUESDAY 9th MARCH 2010 at 18:00 for 18:30

CINEMA de LUX, Cabot Circus, BRISTOL

    https://www.seefilmfirst.com

CODE: WILL BE SENT TO YOU AT 6PM on MONDAY 8th MARCH - SEE BELOW

    Synopsis
I Love You Phillip Morris is the improbable but true story of a spectacularly charismatic conman’s journey from small-town businessman to flamboyant white-collar criminal.

Jim Carrey repeatedly finds himself in trouble with the law and on the lam, brilliantly escaping from the Texas prison system on four separate occasions – all in the name of love.

Steven Russell (Jim Carrey) leads a seemingly average life – an organ player in the local church, happily married to Debbie (Leslie Mann), and a member of the local police force. That is until he has a severe car accident that leads him to the ultimate epiphany: he’s gay and he’s going to live life to the fullest – even if he has to break the law to do it.

Taking on an extravagant lifestyle, Steven turns to cons and fraud to make ends meet and is eventually sent to the State Penitentiary where he meets the love of his life, a sensitive, soft-spoken man named Phillip Morris (Ewan McGregor).

His devotion to freeing Phillip from jail and building the perfect life together prompts him to attempt (and often succeed at) one impossible con after another. Told with an uncanny sense of humour and a lot of heart, I Love You Phillip Morris is an oddball tale of what can happen when the legal system, a daredevil spirit and undying love collide.

Cast: JIM CARREY, LESLIE MANN, EWAN McGREGOR

    Running Time: 102 mins
