  • Just wanted to say Thank You to "the-mango" for posting details of the Buta Gala Concert. It was the first time I've been to the Royal Festival Hall and thought it was a great night out. Even if central London was absolutely freezing last night...

We also saw The Blind Side in the morning - it wasn't anything at all like we were expecting; I guess I need to read the blurb more carefully next time. But we thought it was a great film; highly recommended.

Saw the Hurt Locker last night on the Telegraph offer.

What a film - had you on your seat edge for the whole of the film. Can now understand why everyone who plays violent computer games gets so hyped up.

I came out of the cinema tensed up and understanding why so many soldiers can not return to normal life when they return to UK.

Why does the world continue to fight wars?

I saw The Blind Side on Sunday morning and was very impressed by Sandra Bullock's performance .........

I admired the supportive behaviour of Michael's 'family'. At one point the film seemed to be coming to an end but when I checked the time it still had approx 20 minutes to go and the ensuing scenes angered me. Why on earth should someone's educational choice need to be investigated.
    ....
I had a lump in my throat at the end of the film and needed to dab my eyes but I also had a great big smile on my face. I enjoyed it so much that if I have nothing on that night, I may well see it again on March 22nd. :)

I think that was one of the 'points' being made.
Even when you do something with the best and most pure of intentions, there are people around who deliberately try to twist things because of their warped view of life..... or perhaps because they have first hand experience of how twisted some people can be.

Remember in Slumdog where children were deliberately blinded and mutilated so they could earn more begging.
Horrific, but it does go on, and undoubtedly did even in this country centuries ago.

I agree with your comments on the family, some of the similarities to the real people was just eerie - esp Miss Sue.

I must admit, I have already considered trying to get some more tickets as I know I would thoroughly enjoy seeing this again - and I may even be able follow the dialogue more, now I have gotten used to the Tennessee drawl:p

For those who are yet to see it ( including my DD at Uni) you are in for a real treat - but take some tissues !!;)

I loved The Blind Side up until he was questioned about picking the uni he picked, I didn't understand who the woman was... It would have been better if a friend of Michael's subtly mentioned that maybe he didn't fully decide for himself instead of her.. But other than that loved it, had a smile on my face for most of it :)

It was pretty clear who she was. She was an investigator with the NCA (or whatever it was) investigating the odd behaviour of the adoption of a black teenager.

Anyway it was based on a true story so it's likely to be what happened.
  • Totally agreed Blind Side was amazing!! x

I wonder if anyone can help with this problem?

Every time I print out SeeFilmFirst tickets there's no name and details on the ticket. It appears to be because the background is light blue and the writing is white and my printer is not picking it up.

We had a problem getting into the Blind Side last night because although we had the SeeFilmFirst logo and 'The Blind Side' on the sheet there was no Mr XXXX 2 tickets for XXXX at Vue.

No matter how I print it out and on what printer I do it it still doesn't appear.
I've noticed other people with this problem and some of the cinema staff have seen this issue before, but it's getting to be a right royal pain. I used to use SMS tickets so we never had this problem before but that service is not available anymore.

    Anyone any suggestions please?

    Cheers

You might want to kick yourself as to how easy the solution is...... print in black and white instead of colour :)
