What would you suggest in place?
Just that we all check the codes only forum when we can - then everyone has an equal chance of getting tickets. Having said that I'm probably biased against the system as I haven't got a 'phone, but those that do might have to grin and bear it when someone puts chat in the wrong forum for the privilege on getting early notifications.0 -
Well, I travelled from Bradford today to Leeds Vue, Kirkstall with my family of four hoping to see Blind Side. We arrived prior to the film starting, every single seat was packed to the 'rafters.' We and many others were turned away.
Film first drastically made a blunder, issuing far too many tickets than the number of seats available. We were dissapointed to say the least and very inconvenienced. Any suggestion on the best course of action, if any?
How very annoying for you! We went to see the same film, on the same evening, at The Light in Leeds City Centre, (couple of miles away if that), and the cinema was half empty. How crazy is that!!!!0 -

It's a first come, first served procedure as it is and don't forget that codes are posted on other sites too. I'm at home most of the time with my laptop on settee next to me. But you can bet that the minute I have a snooze or go and wash the dishes, a code will appear. People would have to be incredibly lucky to check the site at the precise moment each code was posted. Plus some people at work have limited internet access and might find problem checking the forum every half hour or so. And many companies don't allow their staff to have their mobile phones turned on during working hours. I don't quite understand why you are biased against the system because you don't have a phone. Do you not have internet access during working hours?
Let's face it, the email notification is optional. I doubt there will ever be a solution that suits everyone. As you say it's a grin and bear it situation or in my case, gripe and bear it.
Aside from those who post chat in a no chat thread, I don't understand why some people thank them. What's with that?? To my mind that's encouraging them. Weird.0 -
As far as i know it should be in my extra's then under the experience tab, i checked my own account and i also couldn't see and movies, i'm guessing that no free tickets available and no previews coming up yet, hence why it isn't there at the moment, i could be wrong though.
Thanks for that, maybe I'm not going as mad as I thought. Guess will just keep trying periodically to see if it works.0 -
We're now at the point that repeating the same code is more popular than chat. Why don't people simply scroll up a bit before posting, or even just search for the code using the boards tools. It only takes a few seconds.0

Is anyone aware of a RSS feed, for postings placed in the Cinema Codes forum?0

Ignore them..............They would all be quick to moan if there were NO free tickets made available via this site and they had to wait for the "correct" emails from the ticket suppliers!0 -

Agreed.
People should just be grateful that they have the opportunity to obtain free tickets to movies that screen before general release.0 -

A post count doesn't always give a true idea of how long a person has been using the forum BUT there are nicer ways of contacting someone.
As another user has stated, it doesn't take a lot to check to see if a code has been posted and people just aren't doing that. You, unfortunately have posted when there has been a lot of problems with idiots using the code thread just for chat, knowing full well that it irritates people and costs some people who get the email alerts and check using mobile phones.
So please don't allow the sharpness of one pm to put you off posting codes or chat in the right threads, it will be sheer annoyance and frustration on that person's part, at least I hope it was.
If you stick around long enough you will see for yourself how annoying it can be to get duplicated codes, one after another in a row as has happened today, then you get those who think they are helping by adding little bits to a post made by someone else. Usually all you need to do is log in to SFF or similar to find the list of cinemas etc all by yourself.
People don't seem to realise that you can delete a post as few rarely do even when asked to by a polite pm.:)
Thank you for wanting to share and I totally understand the excitement of finding a new code and wanting to do your bit by posting it in the thread, this time it was a duplicate, next time it might not be. So don't let one sharply worded pm put you off. Your intention was good and that says a lot, it really does.0
