Well, I travelled from Bradford today to Leeds Vue, Kirkstall with my family of four hoping to see Blind Side. We arrived prior to the film starting, every single seat was packed to the 'rafters.' We and many others were turned away.
Film first drastically made a blunder, issuing far too many tickets than the number of seats available. We were dissapointed to say the least and very inconvenienced. Any suggestion on the best course of action, if any?

The problem is that they do issue more tickets than cinema can cater for to compensate for no shows.

Have you tried getting tickets for one of the other many dates for this film?

I also wonder if the cinemas are always aware of exactly how many tickets SFF and Sky etc have issued.
Some times the previews are shown in the smallest screen, sometimes in the biggest.
Obviously makes a mega difference in the number of peeps able to get in.
Perhaps SKY and SFF etc should communicate a bit more with the individual cinemas to ensure the cinema use the most appropriate sized screen.

I would think it worth complaining, if nothing else it may encourage them to get their act together

I don't know if the cinema are always aware how may tickets are issued but I saw AIW last week and the cinema said that Sky had issued 150 tickets but there were only 120 seats in the screen the film was being shown in. When the film was shown there were at least 30 seats still empty. They issue extra tickets as people apply for tickets then don't go and don't cancel them for someelse to get. I've only been going to screenings for the last 12 months and the screenings have only looked full 3 times, The Hangover, Coraline and Up even with all of the hype there were empty seats for Bruno. If a film starts at 6.30 and I always aim to get to the cinema at 6pm to get a seat, I'd rather sit and have a chat for 30 minutes than risk being turned away.

Glasgow had a guest list for the Sky screening of AIW last week, so they must have known how many to expect. There were only a few seats left over.

The SFF screenings, they send people along to to check how many people are there and what size of screen it was so they do get a report back.

Thanks to fellow members and Oldbag for suggestions to my earlier comment re issuing more tickets than the number of seats available and many being turned away and the inconvenience caused.
I have now as a result brought the matter to the attention of Film First via email.

I'm feeling very stupid today but I can't find whereabouts of films on sky.com. I've logged in and thought it would be on My extras but it's not. Could someone help as I'm never gonna be able to get future tickets at this rate, I was successful for BlindSide. Also so lucky as was able to see Waiting for Godot today. Fantastic.

As far as i know it should be in my extra's then under the experience tab, i checked my own account and i also couldn't see and movies, i'm guessing that no free tickets available and no previews coming up yet, hence why it isn't there at the moment, i could be wrong though.

I went today as well! Nice seats and the show was great, would totally recommend it before it closes...
