    Okay, here goes:

(please no-one else watch it if you haven't seen the movie)

    Wrt Salt:

The actor earmarked for the role was Tom Cruise.

Salma Hayek can be quite funny (I'm thinking Dogma), so Grown-Ups might be okay. I actually thought about cancelling Going the Distance (due to schedule), but glad I went. Sometimes films you don't expect to be good can be alright.

I have to skip Cyrus, not through want (it's free and my namesake shows that I likes me freebs - lol), but due to other commitments tomorrow. Please let me know how your screening goes on Wednesday (as you've mentioned in a previous post) and something about a strange combination of lager and cheese or along that lines. Isn't it meant to be cheese and wine?

Thanks for the link, will be a welcome light relief after watching This Is England, powerful stuff.:(

If it helps, there is a doggie in Grown-Ups who plays his role well ;)

Shame about Cyrus. The screening I'm going to is sponsored by Grolsch; don't think they do wine:p

Flipping heck, it sounds like I will need to build myself an ark throughout the night if I want to go out on Tuesday:eek:

I paid to see Toy Story in 3D at Odeon, and had to pay for 2 pairs. So I don't know if it is up to each cinema to decide if they charge or not, or whether the free ones are a cheaper version, or what?

I have put them in the glove compartment of my car, so I can never forget them ( she says hopefully;)) as we always have to drive to the cinema.

I am stunned, I really am. The cinema sell x amounts of tickets to the promoters and the promoters supply the viewing public plus specs if it is a 3D film. So in these instances, the cinemas are being paid a fee to show the film, in this case the amoount of tickets they sell to the company promoting the film, then they are charging for something that was provided free of charge to them. Admittedly, not a huge sum of money per specs but still not ethcial either.

I've seen that clip a few times now. It was featured in a couple of programmes that show funny or odd clips off the Internet. It is funny though isn't it? :rotfl:

Well I must see Going The Distance now to see the clip in context. The mind boggles.

Sorry, I seemed to be on a little time delay (and only saw other posts after I had posted above). I was on other websites. Always doing several things at once.

If there are animals in Grown-Ups, then the movie will be no.1 at the box office for me - lol.

You get freebies on top of freebies (free movies and free drink/food) in Liverpool? I like the sound of that. Our screening of Going the Distance was delayed tonight, and someone (must've been an MSE'r, brilliant that he was) piped up and said that we should get free drinks for waiting. He was politely told to sling his hook, and reminded that it was a free screening. I, on the other hand, fully supported his style. I'm a fan - lol. He didn't say it quietly either. Nice one, mate.

I've heard the film, This is England, is fantastic, but the TV drama/follow up is lacking momentum, or something along that lines.

The weather sounds really bad here too.

First time I saw it tonight. Not a reflection of the film, though. Just an aside, but featured all the same.

I'm the same, can't resist a film with an animal in it somewhere :j
The Grolsch screening was in conjunction with Little White Lies, so I would guess the free food and drink will apply to the other cinemas too. Sadly I didn't win a ticket for their last screening which was Scott Pilgrim, so don't know if this is a regular occurrence. Fingers crossed I find out by winning tickets to their next screening, whatever it may be.:D

I'm with you and your mate lol, if you don't ask then you don't get. Good on him for trying :T

Not long to wait for the follow up to This is England, Channel 4 are showing it after Big Brother on Tuesday night. Swiftly followed by Footloose, I see from my T.V. Times.:j

BTW Tibbs, I take it that the rucksack scene that you and Willey liked, is the scene where she 'visits her young neighbour'?

    Indeed...so sweet!

Just to be clear...if you PAY to watch the film you generally do have to pay for the glasses too...was this a paid viewing of TS3 or a freebie?

  • Thought Going the Distance was a good laugh. I laughed twice at the Panda clip. I thought it might be on You Tube, and it is!!! Still funny watching it again.

Hope everyone is doing fine :).

Personally me and my friend found the whole 'I'm eating my sandwich' scene hilarious...haven't laughed so much for ages...good for the soul

Oops! I didn't see the part that said you paid to see the film. As willeynotwiley pointed out, the cinemas do charge for the glasses when you pay for the film.

I was talking about the free previews where the 3D specs should be provided without charge.
