This is sending out the wrong message saying that its OK to post on the Codes thread. It's clearly stated that there shoudn't be any discussion there...that's what this thread it for!

They seem to have completely missed the point that every time someone posts there it automatically sends out alerts and potentially wastes a huge number of peoples time. It's a constant problem because newcomers don't appreciate that fact, so it's odd that it isn't even mentioned.

I think for most people its just a genuine mistake. However, if its the same people doing it over and over again, then there should be some sort of barring system. The more people come to rely on the codes thread, the more precious it becomes to them (as it is to most of us). However, there's no need to be rude to anyone. After all we're complete strangers to each other:cool:

There's another non-code just been put up by someone who presumably doesn't understand the alert system, and why its therefore particularly important to keep discussion off that thread (or else they believe they are so amusing that people should be forced to "enjoy" their "joke").

Newbies will see the 'no discussion' but won't understand why, or what happens if they ignore it. Surely the mods ought to spell out the implications, in order to at least minimise the 'genuine mistakes' and general annoyance?
  • Can anyone tell me where the code is hidden in this cryptic message:

If there is no code, why then is it on the codes only thread?

I think this person is just taking the pi$$, after all that has been posted previously. Just ignore...

And why are people thanking him....?

I don't live in the London area so I'm not a premiere ticket expert but to be honest SFF and their new site Showfilmfirst rarely send codes out for previews so I wouldn't bank on getting premiere tickets from them.

Am I right in assuming you mean the premieres attended by the movie stars? If yes, I would guess there would be specialist sites for advice on obtaining those kind of tickets. I thought that the tickets were sold for high prices because they usually benefit charities but I may be wrong.

Have you tried googling various phrases containing the word premiere?

Previews, which we discuss on here are rarely the same thing but I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction.

If you happen to go to one and find a certain Mr J Depp in attendance, please kidnap him and contact me for info on where to post him ;):D

    Many thanks

Both this and the previous 'amusing' post in reply to the MSE Forum Manager have now been removed.

So what did I miss Tibbs, what films was the post referring to?

Have people up North stopped going to the cinema. there have been no codes for us for ages.

Which bit of the North? I'm in Liverpool and don't do too badly but other places are very unlucky in comparison.
