Me too! Hmm, i wonder what proccess they use for their allotted slots... Sounds like it should have been advertised as a prize draw or something. At least i won't be on my tod if i did get a ticket now, haha...The best things in life are free0 -

3 of my friends applied as well and they haven't been allocated tickets. Even if it was a prize draw, not quote sure why they would have been "sold out". Anyhoo, nothing ventured, nothing gained0 -

They sounded quite formal on their t&cs and on their email it even stated about having full securities present. It's a DCM offer so perhaps this screening could involve having the cast there? That i'd be gutted for if i didn't get a ticket...The best things in life are free0 -

Probs best that I didn't get a ticket then. I'd end up molesting Bradley Cooper0 -

I've been to a 'full security' screening before... it was two old security cards that checked your bags before you went in and then used night vision goggles to make sure no one was using video cameras to record the movie while it was on.... no celebs i'm afraid0 -
It has been canceled apparently!0

I received an email cancelling my ticket and so I phoned them up asking about it and they told the story of "someone " posting it. The screening is for cinema companies/people and I was told they will have a person checking, so anyone outside their infamous list will be turn down.
But as usual, go if you are temerarious:jThanks to those who help us to win !0 -

I see, yeah, well to be honest i'm actually surprised the securities aren't as high across the cinemas in general with dealing with all screenings. In the space of a month of regularly going to previews, i've been to about 6 screenings and it was only at the Karate Kid showing in Leicester sq that they were very very strict. I was going with 7 friends and 3 were accounted for on my ticket. The movie was scheduled to start at 6.30pm and people we piling in at 6pm. I got to the odeon cinema at 6.05pm but unfortunately 2 friends were running late due to tube delays and rush hour traffic. The rest of us who were there were all eager to get in, knowing that so many people have turned up, no doubt all the good seats would've been taken by now. I got my other friends to go in first to save some seats which was good. The other couldn't go in without my ticket and we ALL had to be present. We then waited until 6.27pm to go in (yes i remembered the time cos i kept staring at that damn watch!) and by then one of the girls called to say she's running up the stairs now, however there was no sign of the other girl. I told the securities on the door, one said i can keep hold of my ticket until my friend arrives so we can let her in, but then the other over ruled her and insisted absolute NO admittance as soon as the movie starts as this disrupts the screening. (I totally get this as it annoys the hell out of me when people roll in into screenings as late as 20mins into the movie!)
Anyways, then he asked me how would i know if my friend arrives as all mobile devices were to be switched off (not just on silent!). He was very stern with me i must say. So we continued into the auditorium, luckily the guys reserved us some good seats and just as we sat down, the friend finally called and said she's outside and can't get in. We were about to explain to her that it's too late, and in mid convo the phone signal went. (We on the phone very quietly) My other friend tried to text her to say sorry and that they won't allow entry now but was caught by one of the security guards (same guy!) and warned that if that phone isn't off, we'd have to leave!! As you can imagine, our friend was left to wait outside during the 2 hr movie. I know the people were just doing their job. My friend was angry that we went ahead without her but we did our best. She's finally gotten over it now and hope she'll be able to make the screening next time. :rotfl:
Somehow i actually preferred how they conducted the screening that evening. It was the first time i watched the Karate kid movie and really enjoyed it. It was unfortunate what happened with one of my friends but the rules are rules, just wished that other cinemas abide by them too. Also, you know how we get to wear glasses for the 3D showing, perhaps they should bring in headphones too to gain the ultimate movie experience! On so many occassions, movie going have been ruined with too many people talking on their phones or just chatting!
Horror movies are my fave... imagine watching one in 3D and with headphones...AWESOME!!The best things in life are free0 -

you should get yourself along to a silent disco..... everyone listens to the music thru headphones, pretty surreal thing, taking your headphones out and everyone is raving away in pure silence0
