    An all but pointless exercise.

Especially since 24 hours elapsed from the 1st post to the "bump"

Anyone subscribed to the thread would have known about your 1st post without the need for the 2nd irrespective of when they looked.
Even those that aren't, but know about it, regularly look without the need to be reminded nor the need for a "bump" since they know where it is at all times due to having it bookmarked as a favourite.

Furthermore in the 24 hours between the 2 posts hundreds if not thousands of people will have visited Sky trying to obtain tickets for this screening. A few maybe as a result of your "cancellation" post, but many more because of the actual FREE CODES thread on MSE containing the original posting for these tickets, and the fact that the same information is on FMUK, BargainSpy, HotDealsUK and indeed Sky's own website. :)

Probably taken within an hour and most likely by someone that didn't see your 1st post.

Yet another diatribe from quoia the all knowing or should that be quoia the know it all.You must have an awful lot of time on your hands to take the time to write all of the above, how petty.Poor Kitty being publicly chastised and practically being made to wear the dunces hat and to stand in the corner. !!!!!! why all the fuss.Yes it was a slightly irritating post but hardly the crime of the century and lets face it quoia, you've made more than your fair share of annoying, superfluous posts, generally in the form of you adding a minute detail to a post made by another person. For the record it was just as annoying to log in and read your post as it was getting an alert for Kitty's post.Get off your high horse, take a chill pill and stop bossing others around.

I was at the screening in Cardiff, and it was so awkward when those people were asked to leave. But come on, they were sat on the steps and by the fire exit! I didn't feel too bad until their friends came in with popcorn and snacks  But bless that one man for getting up and offering his seat, he deserved an applause when he came back in.
But you have to be stupid to turn up late when it clearly states no entry after 6.30. For a movie this anticipated (and mainly appealing to guys) you need to be at least 30 minutes early for a guaranteed good seat...we came at 6.15 and were at the front
Also I loved the heavies (doormen), really nice blokes, but definitely looked out of place in a cinema. The swish suits were a bit OTT :D

As for the movie - brilliant. Didn't really enjoy the romance or the 'Kick-!!!'/Dave scenes too much but any doubts I had were forgotten about during the last quarter. The final two fight scenes were up their with The Matrix lobby shootout IMO. And I loved Hitgirls 'self suicide' moves...awesome! :D

I went to the Cardiff screening of it last night luckily turned up extra early and we were the first ones in the cinema unfortunately if you leave it to the last minute and the films oversuscribed you get the chance that you might not get a seat.I loved the doormen/heavies too they were really friendly and the man giving up his seat for others what a gent. The film was great didn't know what to expect but really funny thought that the 11 year old Hit girl was defo the star in it hope that they make a follow up.

Just a brief missive about The Pacific screening last night.

Didn't know what to expect and was somewhat surprised that we were one of the first to see the first two episodes of this series on one of "Europes biggest screens" and in High Definition (my first in this format).

Upon entry to the screen I was met with a free bag of stuff, which I initially saw as popcorn and a magazine, along with a bottle of water. Boy, we were pampered!

A Sky employee came out beforehand and introduced the episodes and began to read names out of persons that had won a The Pacific book. Oh, here we go, I thought. Get on with the film! Second name read out? Mine! So, not only free stuff but a book as well!

I glanced around just before the film started and noted it was about 90% full, so a good turn out.

The episodes were great and I recommend watching them (for those that have access to Sky Movies).

My thanks go out to zuzanach, for posting the Sky link, and to all the other hard working souls who post on here on a regular basis. :)

P.S. Found out upon returning home that we were treated to a small bar of Green & Blacks white chocolate as well as the popcorn/magazine etc. :D
    Life's what you make it....

Life beyond voluntary work scares me, but what else is there?

Took all of 2 minutes to make the post, and anyway, I did it whilst I was watching the TV and having something to eat & drink.

And I commend Kitty Wren (who I am sure is perfectly capable of standing up for themself without the need for your intervention) for actually returning the tickets to Sky (a truly praiseworthy & selfless act) for someone else to use and posting the fact on MSE, especially since the post was on this thread and NOT the CODES one, which many unfortunately do choose for this inappropriate purpose.

I was just stating the truth about the fruitless & futile nature of the bump (explicit "bumping" being frowned upon in many forums)

As for yourself, I remember it was only a few weeks ago that you accused ALL OF US of being NAIVE, apparently taken in "and controlled" by all the "helpful" posters who were a power crazed selfish bunch just seeking recognition and self-glorification.
You claimed the long standing and respected member rummy (who has posted literally dozens of new preview codes) of being a LEECH and another frequent supplier of codes (phunkygal ?) of only posting to boost their ego, needing to see their name in lights.

AND after you started out so well :rotfl:

Personally, I like the colour and the larger sized text. Not all of us can view teeny tiny sized text and the colour brings some individuality. I was registered to this site many years ago and met with this kind of hositility when I used a larger text. I gave up and left.

Stay just as you are Quoia. :T

When we saw Kick-A$$, the screen was so full, there were people sitting in those seats at the very front that no one usually sits in. Didn't realise it would be so popular!

I had an email before we went saying that there would be security and sure enough there was. I'm a bit surprised that that Universal bothered sending someone, but OH says because the film hasn't been released in the US, it's a big deal. Only got the tickets because I knew OH wanted to see it, but actually, it was better than I expected. ;)

First time I've been asked for ID to see a film preview!

We saw Kick !!! in Glasgow tonight. There was one of the main characters, free popcorn and free badges -best freebie ever!
  • We saw Kick-A$$ at Bristol cribbs and it was amazing.

I had actually read the comics last year so i all-ready knew the story but there were some very welcome changes and some even more welcome the non changes (the Strobe fight ending with BDaddy being kept).

Our cinema was about 80% but pretty much all of the front rows were free.

Nic Cage was great and for any comic/superhero fan its defo a must see... but i was a bit shocked at some of the reactions in the cinema to the swearing.... do people not know what they are going to watch!

The doormen were there but we got there at 5.55 so they weren't really ready when we entered and no ID ing (but i did get id'ed on a sky screening recently)

All in all the best film ive seen for free and the best of the year.... Better than AVATAR!

I might even pay to see it again

I was meant to go to Bristol Cribbs....left with an hour to spare for the 5 mile journey and got stuck in roadworks that caused BOTH directions to halt. It took an hour to get out of by which time I had missed the film.

Back from Whip It, glad I went to see it! I nearly stayed home but being directed by D Barrymore made me go. Very glad because I saw an Ellen Page making good acting choices as well as for the rest of the cast which was in general very convincing. A light comedy, nothing more, well acted and well directed, good enough for a Saturday morning when nothing else would have moved me.
Thanks to those who help us to win !
