Had a fab morning at Westfield for the How to train your Dragon preview. Luckily we arrived early as we were directed to an area with free activities in it. This included face painting (or hand and arm painting in our case), baloon modelling and we got 4 free copies of a professional group photo, which was inserted in the film advertising photo. Then went into the cineam screeing to find they had put free bags of popcorn, boxes of poppetts and water (along with the 3d glasses) on each seat. The kids and I really enjoyed the film.

    An all but pointless exercise.

Probably taken within an hour and most likely by someone that didn't see your 1st post.

Well seeing that two tickets were still remaining when I bumped the thread, you were wrong.

Do you have nothing better to do than police a forum where people are just trying to help others?

You'll be claiming next that the 2 tickets available a whole 24 hours after you cancelled your pair are the same ones, and not the last 2 out the original release or from another batch of 20 or 30 that Sky released a day or two earlier (something that Sky & SFF & Tellten etc do on a regular basis) or that perhaps someone else returned a pair of tickets just 2 minutes before you checked.

IF they were indeed the actual tickets you returned then that all but proves that the original "I've cancelled" post was all but pointless and "fruitless & futile" if they were still there a whole day later and nobody had actually taken them.

As it happens for their current offering due to be screened Tuesday evening (despite being duplicated and appearing 3 times on the Codes Only thread & booking started at least 12 days ago) OVER HALF the cinemas STILL have tickets available including my own, even having booked a pair for myself :)

Not sure about the issues with being informed of the "etiquette" of posting on certain threads & forums.

If everytime someone found that a particular cinema screening still had tickets remaining they posted the details on this thread (or worse still on Codes Only) then the thread would be FULL of such posts and very little else, especially if these posts were then "bumped" a day later on the basis that since tickets were STILL remaining then the original post must have been missed or ignored.

Given your join date I'm guessing you don't know about the days before there "was an etiquette" for Free Cinema Tickets. Total disjointed chaos, codes sometimes literally repeated dozens & dozens of times, often in separate threads, sometimes on different forums, that then frequently got merged into THE thread, full of chat about codes, movie reviews etc.
Sometimes it grew by well over 100 posts in a single day, some people then missed out on codes that had been posted 5 pages back from the current "last post" because they ONLY checked back what they thought were the 3 or 4 extra pages added since they were on MSE the day before - 60 to 80 posts of mostly "drivel" (a TEDIOUS exercise trust me).
You could "NEVER FIND ANYTHING" !

They would only find out that they had missed a free screening at their local cinema, despite the details being posted at the very least once, when someone posted a review of the movie and "cinema experience" afterwards.

Moderators & board guides had a nightmare trying to keep any assemblance and sense of order, so we tried to help them wherever possible with a bit of self-regulation cutting down on unnecessary posts and following good practice.

Any help towards this is most appreciated by the majority of MSE - even now.

No worries, just next time could you try to avoid posting any big story details. :) Cheers!

Just wondering if anyone is going to the "Press Screening" of Kick A$$ today? I had an email last week and managed to get tickets. Am just wondering if it's going to be like a normal screening, or if there's anything different about a press screening...?!
Am going on my own so a bit nervous, ha ha.

I went to the one in Manchester. There was a red carpet and 2 actors from the film turned up. Aaron Johnson who plays Kick-!!! and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, who plays Red Mist (better known as McLovin from 'Super Bad'). They introduced the film and did a short Q&A!
