BTD, if it's budgeted and you've not added to your debts, then it's fine in my book. Guess you just have to watch it's not "displacement" shopping though! And after Xmas, you can channel all of that money into repayments which will mean quicker DFD for you. Have not started own Xmas shoping but then, never do. Other than 3xDs, don't have big family (am only child, can't you tell?) so not too many to buy for. And we don't go mad anayway. Despite that, still find it ALL V STRESSFUL! bUT THAT'S JUST ME, U GO AHEAD AND ENJOY.#Tesco 0% NIL Jan 2010

I suppose i have not bought for so long it feels odd??
Your doing brilliantly, and as you said its budgeted for.
May sound daft but when every penny has been accounted for in one way or another, usually bills, etc, then the buying for Christmas seems such a shock to the system.
If you were going out spending £100s of pounds, u'd of had us lot moaning at you, (only joking).
It does feel odd buying for xmas, I begrudge paying full price for anything xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
 Hi hun, just checking in to see how you are. I was having a read the other day and I have now followed suit and started my xmas shopping. I find it much easier buying in advance then all at once, that way I don't feel like I have spent that much either (if that makes sense!!) Well done on finding the bargains :T xxMarried 1st October 2015:heartpuls

Well done on yur starting shopping skint but happy.x:D
Good news today my mum and i decided not to buy one another for christmas which is good in two ways 1) she is a nightmare to buy for 2) saves money obviously! So thats a lot of hassell and about £60 saved!!:T
I have been thinking about stopping my £1 a week bonus ball lottery work i figure i pay £52 per week and have won once this year £40 (they keep the £9 towards a big one for christmas). What do you all think should it stay or should it go??:money: x0 -
Help please should i keep bonus ball?0

I'd say let the bonus ball go.(sorry) xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

Another one off the christmas list today. My Godmother i just asked would she mind if we didnt buy this year due to credit crunch!.
Just popped to chip shop for little J as he was in an after school club until late. Ended up throwing it in bin, could not be bothered to drive to the nice chipshop and went to not so nice local one instead , chips were gritty and sausage looked warmed up:mad: i did think that when i looked at it but there was no queue (no wonder) so could not try and get J to have something else.
I even had second thoughts about giving dog the sausage.
I hate it when i eventually do spend money on small treats and they are unedible i am so annoyed well not really just peeved!:p
Also bought two cans in work and a packet of marmite crisps no need, no need ,no need! Not taking money again like i used to!
Naughty beat the debt!0 -
Oh poor BTD! You and those chip shops, I detect a weak spot!!
I think you maybe get tired and need to plan ahead for any late nights. How about you just do little J something super quick and easy at home....maybe scrambled eggs or something? not scolding, just suggesting, I'm always wrestling with this sort of stuff myself as a mum of 3 hungry boys.
Don't trouble yourself anyway, just plan to avoid temptation in future
