oh I hear you btd. My weight is monsterous compared to what it was 3 months ago. And yes I have a notebook too!!! I will start from tomorrow, which means I am eating and drinking all sorts today to use them up... that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!!:D

maybe we can have our own little lose weight club, and have a weigh day etc??? Could help motivate us both

I think you better add me to the weight issue... I'm built for comfort not speed, and if my GP got their way I'd have to shift 10 to 12 stone, I'd b over the moon with 1 stone, ok, not really but 7stone!!
Did promise dd when she went back to school I'd eat healthier, not making excuses, but I'm stuck on crutches, in dire need of a miracle, I just have to look at a jam donut and theres half a stone on! x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

    hi btd

just to say I saw your post on gren06's problem - not only a DFW but already helping out others - sweet.

if you are serious about cutting down on electricity an OWL monitor is great, it cost £30 a whilr ago but think they are cheaper now. You clip a transmitter on by your fusebox or outside box, and the seperate display box on your woindow ledge/wherever shows you how much you are using (in pennies or kwh as you choose). it really helps as reminds you to keep turning lights out

i've gone from average 6p/hour to 2p/hour which doesn't sound a lot but is £1 a day. also makes you think about putting the big things on
Well I've just got one of these from Amazon - altho I used a £5 gift certificate towards it! Hope it does the trick! I think we are pretty terrible on electricity - our combined gas and elec bill is £110 a month!! A lot of that is OH's computer I reckon but we will soon find out!

Well, for me the OWL paid for itself in under 2 months.

Just got to remember to work out what your base usage is, and then go and turn stuff off if the meter shows higher when it shouldn't be

  • I am quite hopeful it will make a difference to us. We have 3 computers, 2 teles, lots of halogen bulbs... everything on standby... If I do find it looks likely to make a difference may buy one of those standby saver plug adapter things - but they are around £20 too.... Need to be lucky on bingoport for them LOL! (amazon vouchers)

The OWL monitor sounds like a great idea. It must be easier to motivate yourself to turn things off when you can see the difference straight away

Well done on the £40! I really must do dooyoo more - I am at 8500 miles - but am about to lose nearly half of them as they are nearly a year old. I may use their give to charity option not to waste them altogether as not sure can get up to min redeem level before they expire!
