    Arrghhh

After being "high" for a few weeks i have now crashed. Ended up calling the crisis team on friday as i was hearing them and i saw death who was trying to kill me. They refused to come out because i had had a glass of wine. They said i could either "sleep it off" or wait in A+E for 6 hours. I chose to try and sleep. I didn't, and had a couple of panic attacks. Apparently they said they would tell my CPN and she'd call me on monday-no phone call.

My flatmate was stressed as hell and didn't know what to do with me. I keep thinking i'd be better off living alone so i don't make other people suffer.

Drerading the 9th october as its when i have been told i have to die. And i know they will be angry with me if i don't.

Oh and i'm due another ESA medical soon...just waiting for the brown envelope of doom to drop through the door
hope you're ok hun :grouphug: i hate it when i hit the lows.it just comes totally out of the blue. i keep being told that i am one of the "lucky" ones because my BP makes me on a high the majority of the time, and i only suffer the lows a few times a year.i dnt feel very lucky tho....just worn out from all the rushing about i do! but i just wanted to send you hugs, and hope you've managed to see someone by now xx
  • MessedUp... hope your feeling a bit more "normal". Unfortunatly, the crisis team where I live are pretty useless & I now refuse to contact them. It's so not fair that there is noone offering help & support when you feel low.

My psych prescribed me promazine syrup for moments of agitation & anxiety & it does appear to take the edge off. I think you need to discuss your issues with someone as they are distressing you. You shouldn't have to suffer alone.

I find there is no consistancy in care & this can in itself exhasberate problems.

    Hi.
Just found this thread. Am having a really down day so was just looking through MSE as something to do to stop over thinking.
I am certain I have bi-polar 2; my doctor agrees, a previous therapist agrees but as yet no 'formal' diagnosis.

Have had it since about 14, am now 34. Until this year I was only ever treated for depression. Ended up on a secure ward in Feb of this year where I was given Lamotrogine (sp?) on top of my 225mg of Venlafaxine. Also given sleeping tablets and larazapam (sp? again) (to replace the diazapam I had been given by doctor). The meds work quite well; am defiantly better than I was but am still not at all 'right'.

Anyway, wont go on more. Just thought I would post and say Hi.

I also live in Devon and have received no help at all since I left hospital in March. I keep asking for it but never get anything.
My GP is great, he does what he can. Not sure what else I can do, can't afford private therapy.

I can't find a medication that works effectively for me and doesn't screw with my other health problems, so even though my docs are willing to help, there's not much they're able to do. I meditate, though, which does help sometimes, though obviously not when I'm completely off the scale. But mindfulness meditations can slow down the onset of my episodes quite often, so if any of you think it might help, I can say from personal experience that it's definitely worth a try. :)

I'e got my CPN and Psych next week, i'm going to ask for a clear action plan of what to do in crisis as having to call NHS Direct, speak to a nurse, then a doctor to then get through to the crisis team really didn't help during that episode. Might have helped if i had PRN meds as someone else mentioned.

Also now i have the crisis team number can i ring them any time i'm in crisis or do i have to be referred each time?

    Thinking of you all :)

You should be able to call them anytime. I can and I have only been referred once.

    Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could please help me.

I'm not into this whole self diagnosis thing and if it wasn't for the fact that a few close friends had mentioned it I wouldn't be thinking it but I'm suffering a lot of the symptoms of bi polar and have done for the last few months, I also suffer from anxiety attacks - the dr's are battling to put me on meds for them but I don't think that's what I want at the moment.

The only question I have is whilst I do suffer from a lot of symptoms i.e highest of highs, lowest of lows, manic phases, some days I don't want to talk to anyone and just stay in bed all day. Having researched it on the internet I've seen that phases last a few weeks where as mine can last a few days before I become manic again, they seem to change very quickly - Has anyone else found this or does it sound like something else other than bipolar?

I appreciate you cannot give an accurate diagnosis over the internet and I'm not going to say "I have this wrong with me because someone on the internet told me".

    Hope you can help,

    Thanks

I can go rapidly up and down, even in the same day sometimes.

It used to be, when worse, permanently down though.

    Hi,
Could anyone help me please? I have a friend who has been recently diagnosed with bipolar type I. She has been off work now for almost a year. She has worked in a large organisation for over 20 years within the security dept. The job is extremely stressful as it mainly involves dealing with emergencies. She is having great problems trying to get medical retirement. Her psychiatrist is not willing to write to her employers to say she will never be able to work there again as he wants to try her on different types of medication first. However my friend is convinced she can no longer go back and has also developed agrophobia. Does anyone know of an organisation where my friend could get legal help please?
