Well here I am end of another week and no completion date set yet.

I contacted my solicitor this week to try and find out what is happening. I have heard nothing since the survey was done over a week ago. She told me the bank have accepted my letter (the letter I composed acknowledging the sale rather than signing their shortfall sale form) so thats GOOD news. And that the HA were waiting to find out when the banks survey was being carried out, so had to let them know myself it had already been done (don't these guys ever talk to each other!!!)

The other hold up is the LA's repo fund fees they are paying towards the rescue. Apparently an email was sent a month ago confirming their contribution but the actual monies have not been forwarded to the solicitors ready for completion. So now that has to be chased. Luckiliy not by me but by the HA.

So I am trying to get on with my life and not let the whole thing dominate me. I am still nervously checking my emails everyday, in case I get any news but tbh I am fed up of pushing things myself. Its down to them now. I am hoping the next time I update is when completion is set, but I best not hold my breath for that.

As is the usual pattern with our mortgage rescue, I have heard nothing from anyone regarding progress made or a completion date. So start of another week, I am biting my nails in anticipation and decide to email the LA and the solicitor to get some news.

I find out the LA have released the shortfall monies (from the repo fund) to the Housing Association, so Im presuming that needs to be forwarded to the solicitor now. Good :), thats progress.

I am still waiting to hear back from my solicitor re a completion date and if there were any repercussions from the Bank's own survey. I have no idea what they valued the house at.

All I can think is that we must be close to the end now? Is there anything else that could be slowing it down? I don't know. I just want to hear from her very soon and will update when I do.

  • Oh Angie,
I have only just read your news.........have been away from forum for a few weeks, and had assumed it had all gone through:mad:. I can't imagine how frustrated you must be feeling. Things sound a bit more positive today, and really hope that this week brings a positive outcome finally xxx

AFM, our contact at council dealing with MR and our case is on long term sick, nobody else is taking over it seems, so have heard absolutely nothing now for about 3 months despite weekly phone calls from me! Really don't think it will go through and so am beginning to look at other options........:(. Renting through an agency is sooooo expensive and thats if I pass credit checks, which we probably won't. Anyway, did not want to make this about me...............will be checking your progress, hang in there.......it must be just down to admin now surely xxx
Not as silly as I was thanks to MSE:)
  • A small bit of good news it seems - keep plodding. Like you said you MUST be on the home straight by now.

    Hi sillygirl

    Thanks for your kind words.

As for your mrs, 3 months  thats bad!! I know with my council there is only 2 people qualified to deal with mrs but for no-one else to be taking over your application is dreadful. Have you been put in touch with your Housing Association yet? Or are you still at Council stage?

Renting privately is such a worry isn't it. I have kept an eye on prices around me and its a fair gap (maybe £200 approx) between what the mrs rent will be set at and what we would pay privately, so I understand your worries.

Have you looked into your councils homelessness procedure should the rescue fail? I did this and although its not a great alternative, just knowing what could happen eased the worries a little. If you are making weekly phonecalls, can you be put in touch with someone higher up the chain? Are you with CAB on this? My adviser there really pushed my case in the early stages (probably helped that I was doing voluntary work there at the time) but it really does seem to be a case of who shouts the loudest. Wrong I know :(

Also, alot of people suggested the local MP route to me when things were really looking doubtful and I have come close to it a few times. Maybe an email to them explaining your being held up and getting no response? Worth a thought.

Please keep in touch and Im really rooting for you that it will all happen soon. Good luck hun xx

    Thanks df

    Yep plodding away :D

Think the solicitor is waiting on the council monies to hit their bank account, so Im guessing we are getting close to completion now. Just waiting to hear from them. No news on the banks survey so am guessing the house wasnt valued at thousands of pounds more than the original valuation. What a palava
