Thanks again df for advice. And you are right, if I had sent the signed form in, I wouldn't be able to stop worrying about it.
I now have a letter we are happy with to send to the bank and the shortfall sale form remains unsigned amongst my reams of paperwork
I found out today the bank have decided to go ahead with their own valuation and thats set for this week. So I guess its all going to depend on the outcome of this now.0 -
Hope the valuation goes o.k today - well as well as possible - hopefully you will find out the result soon as well.

Hello Angie
I’ve followed your thread suggestion from my thread [about our unsuccessful experience of the Fast Track Mortgage Scheme] – and have spent most of the day reading about your emotional rollercoaster ride through a haze of tears and sympathetic stress pains!
Angie – you are one of the most courageous and determined individuals I have ever come across, and I am full of admiration for everything you have achieved so far.
So please – NEVER think of yourself as a failure, or worry about the amount of distress and false hopes you have put yourself and family through. You have done what you believed was the right thing to do – and have proved that not only is the scheme seriously flawed, but the only ones who are really benefitting from it are the Housing Associations!
Your postings have also helped us make a decision about what we’ll be doing next – which is very much based on health, stress and anxiety issues rather than anything else. Our financial crisis has actually been going on for about 4 years now – since the Recession first raised its ugly head in 2006, although no one wanted to talk about it then – and grew considerably worse through redundancy and living in an unemployment hotspot. This has had a really detrimental effect on our health – lots of symptoms which I won’t go into here – but it does help to put things into perspective.
I’m not for one moment suggesting you give up your fight – you’ve already come a long way, and while there’s a glimmer of hope . . . .
However, it might help you to create yourself a plan – listing useful accommodation providers [look at Nestoria and Gum Tree websites for private lettings as well], possible family dog carers and volunteers, cheap storage facilities, etc. – and once you realise you don’t necessarily have to end up in hostel accommodation [it’s all about planning], sit back and relax and let them do their worst! Let them start to take some responsibility for the decisions they are meant to be making. And everyday you can remain in your home is a bonus!
And by the way, you cannot be evicted without a court Warrant – which you can then approach the court about to appeal for a delay [A Suspension of Warrant], which will then give you at least a few months grace to find alternative accommodation! It is up to the court to decide – and if you need more time, they may be willing to grant it! You have children and had a long struggle – few judges will be on the side of the mortgage companies, especially yours who have found it so difficult to communicate with anyone! [Ours didn't even bother turning up at the hearing!]
Meanwhile – if you do decide to make your experiences more public [and I firmly believe you should, although I appreciate you may be concerned about the effect on your family], I for one will be very willing to stand beside you in support. And suspect there would be many others who would come forward with their experiences too.
Personally, I feel that the potential success of this scheme has been seriously damaged by poor planning, careless, incapable and unfair Administration in some parts of the country – and the serious effect it has had on the health and well-being on many of us struggling with red tape and bureaucracy needs to be highlighted. And I'm actually quite shocked that no one in any position of authority or power appears to have stepped forward to protest about Human Rights. But then - unless you've been there yourserlf, the experience probably isn't easy to understand or appreciate.
OK – I’ll get off my soapbox now!
I hope things rapidly improve for you now Angie – and for everyone who is going through a similar experience – and I will watch developments with interest!
Best wishes,
Anna x0 -

Hi Anna
I just had to say, I couldn't agree more with the above statement. My sentiments exactly.
Thank you so much for your post and kind words. I am glad to hear my mortgage rescue thread may have helped a little with decisions you are making regarding your own situation.
I was shocked, but sadly not suprised, to read of your own terrible experience with mrs, and I am so hoping you have other options open to you now.
Please feel free to PM if you ever need a chat and just to say, I am really grateful for your kind comments and support. Thank you
UPDATE
The valuation was carried out yesterday. His report should be with the bank by the end of the week. He didn't give much away in terms of value, but did comment that not much has changed since we had the initial valuation done in May by another company. So. fingers crossed
The solicitor will have my signed letter now to forward to the bank, so I am just hopefully waiting that this is the last and final hurdle to get over.0 -
I wasn't going to update this thread today because I have no news on whats happening with the rescue, but as I am feeling so down about it all and other things too, I thought sod it, I will record my feelings here.
No contact from anyone since beginning of last week. The valuer came on Weds so I guess his report should be with the bank by now. My own letter acknowledging the sale went by recorded delivery to the solicitor last Tuesday, so I guess thats been passed on to the bank.
I have tried to get on with other things happening in my life but just can't seem to find the energy or motivation to do so. I am feeling quite low at the moment and can't seem to shake it off. I keep hoping the completion of the rescue will be the answer, but I am wondering if its gone deeper than that now. This is not like me.
I think alot of it is worry over the finances. I know what the rent has been set at, and I have been told we will be entitled to some help from Housing Benefit which I will be so grateful for as without that help it would be a struggle to manage the rent on our current income. I dont like the thought of having to rely on that but hopefully its only very short term until I am back in full time employment. So I guess thats all swirling around in my head. Still, must carry on, im not the only one having problems with mortgage rescue, I must stop looking back and saying 'if only'. I need to look forward and make changes to my life to lift us out of this hole.0 -
