Hi Angie and congratulations! I will be reading this thread thoroughly tonight as I have just come back from a meeting with my LA regarding the Mortgage Rescue Scheme. I have buried my head in the sand for several months now until yesterday I received Court papers for application of re-possession for 28th September! Slight wake up call :(
My LA have given me lots of forms to fill out and instructed me to get two independent valuations and cross my fingers! So maybe soon I will be starting out on a similar journey...? Just hopefully not as long!
    Congratulations again x

    Thank you x

Good luck with your application and if there's anything I can help with then please just shout! My thread is rather a long read :o but there are some good links and info from all sorts on there.

Dont let my rather 'long' and sometimes difficult  journey with it put you off. There are many more people who have had quicker and easier experiences than me.

So fingers crossed for you, and I really wish you all the best.

Thanks Angie, I'm sure i'll be sending a few emails/questions your way as you're a pro now!

I am on page 11 now so nearly done

Feeling quite positive about it now. Our mind has just been focused on a Repo till today, and even when I left the Town Hall I just kept thinking that there is no way the HA will touch our house, with its damp walls, single glazing and ancient central heating. But from your experience so far maybe my HA will sort that after... if we even get accepted that is! :o

I'm also encouraged by the fact that as we are in such a mess already and haven't paid our mortgage for so long and have also left it for so long to start the scheme. This could make the process even easier and quicker!!??

The shortfall after was also a worry, but again NellieNewbie's post about the statistics of the MR's completed so far with the shortfall's written off cheered me up too!

Thank God I have found this forum! Thank you xxx

    ...off to finish application forms;)

Its now 2 weeks since I was told the bank have agreed to write off the shortfall, but it seems we are no nearer to completion yet  which is very frustrating !

From what I have gathered by emailing relevant people is that the HA are waiting for official confirmation from the bank that they will write off the shortfall. I have no idea how long this will take and my nerves are building up again that something might go wrong at the last minute :o

My DH has some time off and we have started to redecorate, nothing major, just fresh paint where needed, but in the back of my mind I keep thinking its all going to fall through and we would have watsed time and money doing this :(

Looking back at my first post I realised we are coming up to a year since I first began to investigate mortgage rescue. I had no idea then I would still be going through the process a year later

Still, I am doing my best to think positively and keep hoping the end is in sight !

:(:(:(:( Perhaps I should have trusted my gut instinct. Looks like the rescue may fail :(:(:(:(

I have been waiting to hear whats happening with our mortgage rescue for the last 3 weeks. Just found out today, that the bank are insisting on doing their own valuation now and are insisting we sign the shortfall liability form otherwise they will not proceed with the sale. This is despite them verbally agreeing to the LA they would write off the shortfall.

The HA are asking me to sign it and send it to the bank so they can set a completion date. I am now on a major down, Im upset and frustrated that we just aren't getting anywhere.

I spoke to my CAB advisor and there is a meeting planned tomorrow between them, the HA and the LA so our case will be on the agenda. I have told CAB that we will fill in the s/fall forms so the bank have the information they want BUT we will not sign them. If we do sign we will be liable and not protected by our BR should we end up repossessed.

I have spoken to the LA today and they have said wait on the outcome of tomorrows meeting and see what can be done. I suppose I have the MP route as a last resort but we will see.

I just don't know what to do or what to think now. Back to square one really. For the last few weeks we had started to feel like we could get our lives back on track a little, we told the kids we would be staying here, we were so stupid to think the end was in sight.:o:(

My DH has just had some time off work and we have decorated and painted where it was badly needed because we were so optimistic that we would be staying here as tenants. What a waste of time and money, I feel like an idiot. I just want to give up now, I cant take anymore.

sweety I don't know what to say. I wonder if the ML are trying one last attempt to get you to sign for liability in the hope that you're not as clued up as you are. Lets not forget hat mortgage lenders are slippery and do scare their 'customers' into signing (we know I know this so can say it) they maybe trying this thinking your backs are against the wal, so close 'oh go on DH, lets just sign it, take the risk' etc etc they don't know you're here and so clued up about it all.

I feel another tactic, another paper shuffling game to get the ball in their court.

I'm sorry it's not over, I really really am x
