I watched one of those house programmes once and they cut corners by getting an ex-display. thing is obviously it didnt fit properly. if miss k is wanting to turn around quick profit, ex-display probably isnt the way to go?
sorry for breathing :rotfl:
just trying to change the direction of this thread0 -
Sorry Rachie, hope you didnt think I was snapping, i just didnt want miss K thinking this might be the lifesaver, when it has downsides x:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Fran wrote:That's what I was thinking too, you will have student debt to pay back (in fact I'm not sure why you're bothering with a course as you appear to be keen on launching into a buy/sell career).
Just a quick point, to get his college grant to initially fund Microsoft, Bill Gates did a cooking course, while he never turned up (or so the story i heard goes) he was told he would be kicked off the course if he didnt pass the test the next day.
So Bill revised all the course in one night and passed the exam the next day.
So it sounds to me miss k is doing something similar with her uni money, starting her empire.
Having read through this thread i see a lot of nerve and optimism (and some very dodgy dealing -which could land her in some serious trouble) however I wish her (and the child) the best of luck, its a pity a lot of 20 year olds in this country dont have the same drive, however on the other hand it could all collapse around her at the same time.
Good luck!0 -

In fact missk has already bought the cheap kitchen and the ex-display range to go in it.

Also, didn't you previously say on another thread that you were putting your DLA money into a savings account that you were keeping secret from your OH?

Is it not time to use the money for what it's actually intended, if things are so tight you're cancelling the carer?

And if your mum's got shed loads of spare cash floating around from her letting empire, could you invite her to invest a couple of grand to pay towards doing up your place, which she gets back with interest when you sell?

Miss K have you re read what you have written and had written in this post? It might give you an idea about where these ideas are coming from.
I wish you the best of luck and think you are going to make 'it'; but please make sure you are being realistic.0 -

You have to remember that most of the people on this board are deep in debt or severely broke and therefore their lives are clouded by only just making ends meet all the time. Therefore when anyone gets a step ahead or has a lucky break they all get suspicious and/or jealous and think there must be something behind it or you must be fiddling someone. They have a chip on their shoulder about their lives and cant stand it when someone is doing well as it shows up what a mess they have made of their finances.
I think you might have got the wrong end of the stick here, Black Saturn. Some are deep in debt etc & want to help based on their own experience. Others just want to make sure they dont get that way. They do tend to be a bit suspicious of conflicting information from posters rather than of anyone trying to do well. If someone asks for help & you bother to give advice then its useful to know that they are telling the truth in the first place or all the effort you give is wasted. That seems surprisingly shallow & narrow minded of you. I think you'll find that far from having chips on their shoulders they are extremely helpful & make every effort to add something useful to posts. They are also share anything they have learnt with those not in debt who just want to minimise expenditure. I am very disappointed in your superior attitude on this occasion. You will also find there is normally a big celebration when someone gets out of debt. I dont think you need worry too much about 'showing up what a mess they have made of their lives' because on the whole we are doing just fine & we dont need to life in alternate reality.

Well I'm not jealous of you.................much  LOL
No really, well done to you
I think, and its certainly true on my part, that others here want to be of assistance where we can so that Miss K doesn't get herself into more debt than she has already. Also for her not to take chances with making possible fraudulent claims etc (including the part where her mortgage agreement is based on 2 incomes) And most importantly her health and well being, afterall money can't buy good health unfortunately.0
