I'm doing good apart from my slip the other day. I have 6 fingers which look nice, 2 thumbs which are growing but very very slowly and 2 fingers which don't seem to be growing at all! I'll just have to leave them to recover but gosh I didnt realise how much damage I was causing

I don't want to bite them again as they look sooo nice and I don't feel so embarassed about them anymore. I am officially a "laydee".

Babyhead, I know what you mean about not wanting to bite them when they look nice. It's really nice to catch a glimpse of your hands and they actually look pretty instead of all bitten and sore. My thumbs seem to be growing really slowly as well, certainly not as fast as my fingers have.

my thumbs have caught up with the rest of my nails but my index finger nails are still lagging behind.

stopped biting on 8th of this month and at 1st found it easy with the horrible tasting stuff.
my ring and little fingers look good, thumbs don't look much different middle and index fingers look rubbish!
I find myself picking and running my teeth along the thin growth of nail and I've got use to the taste of the vanish stuff, so haven't bothered using it.
I did buy this 4 way buffer file thing from Boots for £1.99 and the polish side is fab, it really makes your nails shiny

I hope everyone is doing better than me ... I ate three nails yesterday - I feel so ashamed!

I am trying to look on the bright side - I stopped after three when a couple of weeks ago I would have carried on and chewed all 10 off so it could be worse ... I've had to file the remaining seven nails down so they're all the same size, which is a shame as some of them were starting to get quite long (for me!).

Sahra, I found that I did that thing where you run your teeth along the thin bit thats grown - I think it's a leftover 'hands in mouth' thing! Just be careful that you don't accidentally snag your nail on your teeth and break it because then it's so hard not to just bite it off!

Well done on the willpower Alizarin, thats good even if you have filed them all down it's still a step in the right direction!

hi everyone - sorry i havent been posting on this thread just recently!

Well my nails have just got to the tips of my fingers and i celebrated by painting them a pale pink. Went for a facial earlier and was talking to one of my friends who works in the salon and she has mentioned that theres a GEL i can have put on my nail that will condition it and make it stronger so im going to look into it. Apprently you can have the gel painted so it just looks like nail polish - i did look at a girls nails who had it done and it looks quiet good so . . .

Had to have my facial - i know its not very MSE but ive had a HUGE break out of spots and its really not nice! i feel like a teenager again (hark me! im only 25 - i go on as if im 60 lol)

This made me laugh out loud today, as i know the feeling and i am really bad at chewing not just the nails but my skin too and it looks horrid but sometimes i'm not aware i'm munching

I've had beautiful nails in the past, but cannot seem to stop, even the sight of them does not deter me :eek:

I like the idea of that gel - did your friend say what it was called? I've looked at the list of treatments at my local salon but can't see anything that sounds like that so maybe I need to look around for it, but it does sound ideal!

Apart from one small mishap on Monday with the nail on my left little finger, I think I'm doing ok. My nails have recovered from being bitten/filed off and I have white bits again - only half a mm long, but still noticable! I'm so proud, I might see if I'm allowed to post a pic later. Although I don't have a before pic so not sure how useful/interesting it will be!

Everyone seems to be doing well.. despite a few mishaps.

Im doing ok. Only one slip up which i mentioned earlier, and nothing since

I WILL HAVE NICE NAILS TOO!
