SA confided that "some woman comes in here EVERYDAY and uses one of these, it's just not on is it? I mean she only spends a £1 and gets all these points !" I was tempted to say well why have they written in the T&C that minimum spend is only £1 then ?, but I was also green with envy, cos I cannot get into a Smiths every day !!!!

Which branch was this? I fear that the woman they are referring to is me ( office is opposite who smiths and I have gone dutifully every lunchtime, now have £40 worth of points..., and lots of magazines...). I don't see why the staff care so much anyway - after all, it's not their money (( unless they are shareholders as well...)

Can we use these today (18th) or not

all depends on the SA. first occasion i tried to use it, he read the t&c's, noticed it said before date, checked with supervisor and gave him the ok. second time, it wasn't scanning, so the guy checked and said it's not working because it said before (although it did scan in the end - saw it come up on the till which he then cancelled as i was getting my money out, couldn't be bothered to argue back so pulled another voucher out that wasn't out of date but 100 less points), hth.

I have just received an e-mail from wh smith with a voucher attached. Not as good as last one, its only 250 bonus points if you spend £2 and the date is 'before May 20th'.

Don't know if anyone wants this, but the problem is I don't know how to do a link.

I shouldn't worry, they ( and I ) are only jealous. Later in the day went to another branch. SA happy to accept voucher, said she has had loads of these, "I will have to try getting one" she said !! Felt tempted to suggest that since she haddn't crossed thru or torn the one I had just handed her, why didn't she .....
I may not go in every day, but I try to use 2 or 3 when I do get in. Same SA said she had had one lady try to use 3 in one transaction......I think that would be pushing your luck :D

Well as I work opposite wh smiths, I pass every lunchtime ( am usually in there reading the magazines anyway..) but I only use one per visit, as it is a small branch with only one till, I go every lunchtime and sometimes on the way home. I have used this voucher about 20 times, so the assistants must recognise me by now, but they haven't made me fell embarrassed and no-one has told me that the coupon can only be used once...either they are nice or don't bother reading the Ts and Cs..

Also, I am a bit confused as to why I don't receive any emails with the vouchers even though I am a club card member - do they only email some vouchers to some people?

I tried to use one voucher at one store, and a very rude shop assistant asked me if I'd used one before because otherwise my card would get blocked. Luckily it was the first one I used so I wasn't worried although I was quite annoyed, especially when he refused to let me pay with the points!!

And then to top it all off, I went to another whsmith store a few days later and tried to ue another one (to see if he was lying about my card being blocked), the shop assistant had obviously not seen one before, and asked another one if it was ok, she then went and asked the manager, came back and said I couldn't use it because it was photocopied!!!! (My black ink had been running out, so it wasn't perfect but easily readible, and nothing wrong with it at all.) By this time I was exremely annoyed and said I want to speak to her, which I did. Although they let me use it in the end, she said quietly to the assistant "I'm not happy about it, but I suppose she's got to buy her book".

That is the last time I go to whsmith (except to use these vouchers of course!) and I'll be writing a letter to complain about the service I receieved too.

And it definitely does not block your card to use more than one!
