The paper type ;) Nice one, cant be tracked lol :D

    Smart move, I thought ;)

But it wasn't easy getting the paper vouchers. I eventually had to deal with the store manager who had to dig around to find the last few in the store. Still, it was worth the wait.

I wonder if he worked out why I specifically wanted paper vouchers :D

Thanks for the tip Matt

    Cheers,
    Kevin.

No problem :) Yeah WHSmith are slowly phasing them out, but most stores have a few left over.

[Sorry if i have posted quite a lot here, but its harder to try and reply to each post in one post as i wanted to quote the source, hope people don't think I'm just trying to up my post count or something]

I think I'll go into my local WH's at the weekend and do this as you're making me paranoid now...:D

And don't apologise Matt. Your help on here has been excellent. By the way......you can't get your post count up by posting lots of times on a thread, it only gets counted once but I know what you mean :D

After earlier point offers, someone mentioned 'losing' the points on their card, so I 'cleverly' thought I would get gift cards!:D
Then advised here that this can still be tracked, and I should have got the paper type ( I wasn't so clever after all !! )- so next time I went back I tried.....but they said they didn't do paper ones anymore. Thank you for the recent posts explaining about them being phased out and therefore hard to come by.
Now decided to spend the gift cards on goods, which might just get returned still sealed etc and pristine with receipt, and ask for a refund. Will they still be able to track all my transactions ?
Gosh, it is such hard work keeping one step ahead !!!

Now you people are scaring me - how do they "wipe" the points from your card - does it just happen without you doing anything? Which stores are these where the staff are being so vigilant ( so I can avoid..)

I had managed to rack up £15 worth of points on my card but hen I purchased cosmo and B magazine today using my points I was asked to pay £0.15 as I only had £5 worth of points on my card.

I told her that I had clearly £15 on my receipt yesterday but I was in a rush. Not amused my points have disappeared. Anyone else or just me? I didn't think I was overdoing it!!! :-(

I had almost £24 on Tuesday, but today, I was asked to pay an extra 98p, on top of my points. I did not query it.

I have had countless A4 pads and Cross cartridges, all with points, so I am really not complaining.

    Well there are two ways:
    1. Head Office: They have spotted a large increase in points or the system has automatically seen that you have used the voucher loads of times. The operator will then debit the points off your card. Remember, the amount of points are not kept on the card itself, its kept on a server somewhere. When the till swipes the card all it does is tell the till the card number. Therefore, the Clubcard office can do what ever they like
    2. Manager: The manager may have seen a person using loads of vouchers and isn't having it. They can go to the EPOS control panel to retrieve the clubcard number used and see exactly what you brought and how many times you have used the voucher (they can only do a search for this. they don't actually have access to your clubcard "account", therefore if you use the voucher in another store i believe its less likely you would get points deducted) The manager then just uses the debit feature on the tills to remove your points.

Remember: to keep the money you have gained through the voucher do one of the following:
    1. Use your points on the same transaction that you brought them, therefore you don't actually pay anything. Just ask to redeem your points
    2. Get paper vouchers. Just make up some excuse that you are buying it for an elderly person, so they wont get what to do with it etc. Try not to get gift cards, these too could be tracked
    3. Spend your points quickly, don't build up your points with vouchers for weeks and then go in thinking you will get a treat to then find that there is no money on your card!

    I hope this helps :)

I don't think they would go that far. If you bought it with a gift card though they would have to give you a refund onto a gift card. It would be harder to track though, I'm not sure if they would bother.

Your post count is per post, therefore if i posted 5 times on this thread, i would get 5 added to my post count, not 1 per thread.

And im glad to give help if people are finding it useful :)

Hmmm I just went by what I was told awhile ago when there was a discussion about post counts. It doesn't bother me anyway, I think post counts should be scrapped......but thats a whole new thread :D
