And 3 people have clicked to show that it is helpful. The more 'helpful' votes a review has, the better iyswim.

It is so easy to join Tripadvisor, you just sign up with an e-mail address & password, it costs nothing & means you can help other people make informed choices ;)

I've just clicked to show that the review was helpful (WHAT A REVIEW!!!) and while I was reading the other 2 latest reviews the 'helpful' votes went up to 13! :j

So sorry to hear your OH won't be doing the North Pole trip. He has nothing to feel bad about. He's one heck of an amazing man. Wish I could find one like him...................!! :(

Thanks Bubbles and thanks Steph but the decision has been made.
I just dont like the way it was done and the fact that OH had all the press coverage only to be dropped. In hindsight, he should have refused. His life for the last 6 months has been in preparation and the one thing standing in his way was not being able to get his leg sorted out and having to go through selection with a leg which was useless!!! He was on a back footing from the start.
However, the organisers have their reasons and I respect this and dont want to take anything away from the others. OH will set up his own challenge, he has done a lot with his life as an amputee and although this will knock him down for a few months, I know he will get back up.

Am peed off right now but everything happends for a reason right??!! ;)

good point is you can now get married sooner!! are you considering any last minute deals to save a bit?

The reviews are simply shocking. I don't know how they are still operating in the financial climate.

I think you have such a good attitude.

I always try to think everything happens for a reason as well.

Beks - I have been following this thread on and off for a while.

So glad you've managed to get your money back. You must be so happy. :j

I don't know the full story about your OH, but he really sounds like an inspiration to us all.

    Thanks everyone! :D

We made it to the first page on my google search of The Blazing Donkey, Ham, Sandwich. I just hope everyone looks into their wedding venues before actually booking and then they wont have to experience the 9 months of hell that Richard Martin has put us through.
We will now go on the hunt for a much better wedding venue in Deal, Sandwich, Dover area and will find a venue which can treat us with respect and not contempt.
As for slander and libel, everything I have said is 100% true, this can be proved in court too. However, the only thing that would worry me is the name calling of him. Its nothing less than he deserves as he is all of those names but people do need to be careful and prehaps iot might be advisable to remove a few of those names. I will have a look through at my posts too but with 950 odd posts to check out, it might take me a while lol!!!
I truely cannot thank everyone enough for all their help and suppport.

Beks - it must feel so good to be able to name and shame at last! But I've been thinking about your OH (not in THAT way! LOL) and, you know, I really feel that this trip to the North Pole was not meant to be and that he's not going for a reason.

Maybe that reason is that something bad might have happened if he had have gone. Maybe it's just because you and/or your little girl 'should' have him close in the next few months - I don't know - but I'm a great believer in karma and fate and divine intervention, so it seems to me that whatever higher power there might be has stepped in for the greater good.

I know I sound all hippie tree-hugger but I'm not really! Honest! LOL
