That fact that he is still going shows he will get there. Didnt have to beat others to get the place?:jMay 2013 new beginnings:j0

Yes, I think over 100 people applied but he was finally wittled down to the last 4.
He has done so much training to get this far and is now disappointed with himself. He still has the army mentality but his leg has let him down. He is the only one who uses the NHS and believe me, NHS care for amputees is carp, particularly active ones! Compare it to walking 15 miles for three days in the worst fitting shoes in an unforgiving terrain. That is how it has been for him but 10 times worse as the pressure is going through a smaller surface area. Owch!! He wont hear of excuses but will blame himself but I am still the proudest fiancee alive today!!

I didn't see it on the news, but having done a catch up on your thread I have just watched it on the bbc website. No wonder you are proud of him, I am too and I don't even know him!
Following this thread I know you have both been through so much and the added worry with your DD too.
(I also worked out where the venue was, they don't call me google queen at work for nothing you know:D)
Hoping that all goes well for the future for you and you and your OH have the day you both deserve.

Beks..I missed the news this morning as I had to be in the dentist for 9am:eek: but I did catch up on the BBC website. They are amazingly brave men and one thing that they have with them is an expert in prostheses. Your chap is doing something that most of us couldnt do so he should be immensely proud of himself - I am proud of him and I don't know him at all. Mind it must be difficult up in the Arctic Circle because even at nearly midnight the sun is still shining so trying to get sleep must be awful.0

Beks, I discovered this thread by chance on Sunday and have been reading it in bits and pieces since then - it's like an addictive novel
I'm so sorry for all you've been through and couldn't believe it when I finally got to the end and you STILL haven't got your money back yet! Hopefully it won't be long now though.
I just watched the BBC clip, and Mr Beks is cute as well as amazing :T
Oh and I found the venue too, it was pretty straightforward. Searched for "wedding venue Kent" on tripadvisor and worked out which one it was from a clue about the name that someone gave early on
Yikes, some of those reviews are really upsetting - you absolutely must name and shame and go as far as you possibly can, publicity-wise. Yes, this will be upsetting for those who have already booked the venue, but this man has to be stopped! 0 -
Cissi - Thank You, Thank You, Thank you. This has been driving me mad for weeks!! I have found it now!!0

Yeah, he should be proud of himself and spent this evening telling him how proud I am!! The support he has had has been immense. If he can get his leg sorted (and yes you are right they have a prosthetist with them now who will be giving them extra help) he will be half way there. Many months though until we know if he will go so the wedding is on hold for now (although if he does go I might drag him down the aisle for a quickie first).

poppyoscar .... :rotfl:!!!!
Cissi - thank you (I wont tell OH the cute part though)
. He is ringing court again tomorrow (under my instructions while he is recouperating bless him). I am sure they said the 19/20th so the cheque should be on its way but worth a phone call to check!

Congratulations Beks, so glad things have worked out for you!0

Just watched it on the BBC website. No wonder you're so proud of him. What an amazing man! As are the rest of the team. It makes me think twice about moaning and feeling sorry for myself when I get odd aches and pains!! Your OHs amazing courage and determination is something that he should be very proud of.
I've just read another thread and couldn't believe what I read in Horace's post!!! What a disgusting, dispicable little man! How dare he speak to someone in that way who could potentially have been bringing him business? Hopefully the naming and shaming will be coming up soon. Odious little man!0 -
hi just wondering if it matters now that cissi's post leads back to here or not? xxI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0
