Thanks everyone, we are so chuffed!! :j:j:j

I will take heed of the advice and keep stum until the money is back in OHs account. I think my head was telling me the same thing but my usual, impatient side wants to tell the world now!!! :o

Now we finally have (well nearly have) the money, the anger is building for me. How he can have put us through this when he had the cash just sitting there, it really beggars belief. Talulahbeige - I can see your point there. Disgusting all the same. I cannot quite understand why he has done this though and even his actions of going to the court and paying £75 by saying he didnt receive the court papers - surely that would counteract any interest he would have earnt on the money. We don't know how much the 3 other people got back off him but we were given the impression ours was the largest amount. The county court bailiffs are unable to get more than £5000 back in anycase (plus their fee of £150). We have lost a total of about £70 in court fees because of this but that is irrelevant. The stress of the whole ordeal has been the worst but the relief is immense now it is finally coming to an end.

We can now move on with our lives and once we know OHs plans for the next year, we can plan our wedding afresh. :)

DD is okay, despite the pain (currently sleeping, hence able to type on here!). She was discharged at 10pm last night - (the NHS has gone crazy when they decide to discharge children in the night but actually I was glad to get home). Keeping her topped us with analgesia so once the swelling goes down, I am sure her pain will improve. :)

Fab news, both about the venue paying up and DD being home.

  • Not to do with weddings, but there is yet another "Terrible"-rated review for this place on TripAdvisor...

    I've been Money Tipped!
With regards to naming the venue - although I have known what it is for a while and have been keeping an eye on TripAdvisor reviews - I would hold off just another week or so until you have seen proof the money is in your account. Then, tell everyone here who doesn't know the name, write your own TripAdvisor review including the battle through the courts!

Couldn't agree more. Do some research and find out how many words you can write for a review, then type it up ready for when the money comes through. By getting the review ready in advance you can fine tune it to give a very powerful story. You need to stop this man getting his hands on other people hard earned money, he is causing nothing but pain and misery. I look forward to seeing you name and shame, I look forward even more to your review :D.

All the best in the future for all 3 of you, the thread has been fascinating and I'm glad it all turned out so well.

Beks - I'm really pleased you've got the money, I must confess I was a worried when I saw his latest accounts - and the liabilities on the balance sheet

Glad your DD is on the mend.
