I've been having the same problem, which started last Friday. They say it's a third party problem i.e. the company that does the bit that loads the web pages was responsible for the problem and it affected several ISPs.
Supposedly it was supposed to have been fixed on Monday but some people then had other problems. Seems some people became able to load some pages but not others. The third party apparently felt that it may have been a bandwidth problem. All seems to be working again this morning. At last.0 -
Are they still going? I went with them over 3 year ago as a stop gap while my broadband line was being sorted out. £4.99 a month with no contract, great! I thought. Until I tried to cancel and they tried to make out it was a 12 month contract. :mad:0

So here I am, now the 27th September, and wondering if anyone else on Fast4 has still got a near to useless connection?
As has already been said above, 6 days with a completely duff connection. It connected and that was it.
Then came the it's fixed but Oh no it wasn't. A few days of having to refresh pages several times to get them to load fully. Downloading files next to impossible. Then Fast4 finally admit it's not quite right yet again.
Then came the it's fixed again and this time it did look OK.
Except then I complain to them about having the brass neck to charge the full monthly rate with so many days of non service.
Then suddenly I'm back to having to refresh pages a few times to get them to load fully. Downloading files is back to stop start very very slow. Even basic things like virus checker definition updates failing because of time outs.
I tried a few Internet dial-up speed tests.
For a very small page test I got results of "Your throughput is typical of a connection speed of around 19,200bps" and "Your throughput is typical of a connection speed of less than 14,400bps".
I gave up on the larger page tests as after waiting five minutes the connection has either timed out or the results would be pointless to keep waiting.
You can judge a company by how well it deals with problems. At this very moment I would describe Fast4 as dire with little or nothing to recommend them.
It's fixed. No it isn't. There is no problem. There may be a problem.
I'm now onto "it may be a geographic issue". What ever that means.
Personally I reckon the connection has either been "throttled back", or they have cheaper different suppliers, or they want dial-up customers to leave so they can pack that side of their business in.0 -
Well its the 7th of October and Im still having problems...!!
Its hopeless trying to buy anything on line because your shopping trolley times out by the time you get to pay for the goods....!!
It really is hopeless......
Nay! Nay!.... Totaly useless I say...!!0 -
They have finally admitted (on the 5th Oct) that some people are still having problems. And importantly have been able to reproduce the fault themselves.
Nothing has been corrected yet but if you have the same problem please report it to them if you already haven't.
Who knows maybe it will be fixed by Christmas.:mad:0 -
To be fixed Sunday apparently.
I was starting to wonder if I was the only person left using them.
The numbers must be dwindling.
Always seemed to be one day a month when it was dodgy
but the past two months really bad.
I had to buy a 3 dongle to keep me going.0 -
Its Sunday evening and nothing has changed with me...!!
I still cannot update my virus scanner... and unable to download all e-mails except Fast4...
They deserve to loose all their dial-up customers...!!
Maybe thats what they want....!!!???0 -
Still dead here as well.0

Monday morning and it's still not fixed.
Maybe they don't want dial-up users any more? Maybe they're taking customer relations lessons from ebay? Or maybe they haven't paid their suppliers?
Fast4 - the name is nothing more than a bad joke now.0
