Yes, looked like the box had been opened to put the latest software on, then resealed.

I`ve only tried the ones in Bury physically, but around 15 in North Manchester through the reserve at store (website).

Maybe the women in Bury argos said there are none in the region.

You should have it automatically. The software version current is 2.3.9 - if you go to menu, setup then tech spec it will show you what version you are running. I recommend as earrlier the fan site which has loads of useful info; http://dtt.opennet.co.uk/thomson.htm

When I said 15 in North Manchester I meant that I had tried 15 stores in North Manchester with non available. I wrote this post in response to my earlier post (3 posts earlier) which dave2986 responded to, I think the post seems to make sense when you read both posts.

I don`t believe there are any available at the moment ( this is what argos have told me) at least in the north west region and possibly the country!(even people on here say that they are available, argos are saying that they aren`t)

Bought one in Argos in Lisburn Sprucefield NI, couldn't wait to get it home.

Tuned in perfectly and set itself up with a good signal. Remote was really unresponsive but I could have lived with that.

Anyways the thing started crashing and I restarted it about 5 times, still kept crashing.

Took it back, customer services said they had seen a lot of them coming back, really disappointed as the features were great but I didn't want to take a chance on another.

Bought a Samsung DVD recorder instead for £99, and its working great.
