I fry onions in a little olive oil and add some chestnut mushrooms - when they're cooked, I melt some Stilton or Gorgonzola and a dash of white wine. (You can add a little cream, too) mix in the pasta and some walnut halves and serve immediately.0

I take this one to work a lot in the summer:
Cold pasta mixed with
half or whole tin tuna in oil (drained)
couple spoonfuls greek yoghurt
squeeze fresh lemon juice to taste

Thanks everyone for your ideas. Any ideas for pasta that you can have cold. that one I mentioned above with the Cardini's dressing is just as good cold0 -
one of my favourites
pasta - chick peas - savoy cabbage and a bit of chilli. i normally throw in a bit of chorizo but give that a miss for the veggie version
i normally have it with runny stock - but i guess you could thicken it up in the usual way
Cheers

Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me. In the supermarkets you can get pots of lovely pasta salad with cheese sauce and ham , tomato and cheese and lots of others plus lovely cous cous salads. HAs anyone got any recipes. i do them with mayo, but I don't know how to do a cold cheesy sauce one. Suggestions for your favourite combinations please too.
thanks

I really like pasta salad with pesto (red or green) and tomatoes and basil, I also make cous cous with oven roasted cherry tomatoes, onions and garlic - it's amazing!0

Not sure about cold cheesy sauce one....what about mixing quantity of cream cheese (such as Philly type) with mayonnaise or fromage frais, then possibly if not cheesy enough adding some grated cheese?
A favourite of mine is with pesto. Another is with roasted veggies such as onion, mushrooms, celery, tomatoes, and throwing in some sweetcorn, add mayonnaise and cold home made tomato sauce/tomato ketchup.0 -
One of our favourites is pasta twists with blanched diced green beans, sweetcorn, red onion, chopped de seeded tomato and dressed with a squirt of tomato puree and 2 tbsps of chilli pasta sauce. (I make up batches of sauce from toms, chilli, onion, garlic and basil, all cooked down)
Also, 50:50 mayo and yoghurt with mixed herbs is nice too.
I haven't tried cheesy ones but how about beating some cream cheese to soften and then adding a spoonful of pesto?I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0
