I admire those who prepare a pasta dish for work/school lunches.
I wondered whether anyone has any recipes, preferably quick ones. I do make a pasta and then if I have any leftovers i will take to work (usually ourt of a jar and warmed up) but am looking for ideas.
I am a veggie so would like some veggies ones but others aren't so come on share your secrets.

I do a quick supper one called Tuna & Pasta
one can of Tesco value tuna, mixed with Pasta, half a can of sweetcorn and 2-3 tablespoons of mayonnaise. Very quick and very yummy.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I love my pasta and sauce. As a fellow veggie i normally chop onions and mushrooms, fry them in a pan with garlic and oil. I then add some chopped tomatoes (tinned or fresh) and a some basil and oregano or coriander and sometimes a little cayenne pepper for a bit of spice. Ready in 10 mins and v tasty0

grated carrot, sweetcorn kernels, cold cooked pasta, grated cheese - layered in a dish then served with a dollop of dressing made from low fat cream cheese and either fromage frais or creme fraich (can never remember which one it's meant to be!) a lovely filling cold lunch
For a hot lunch add a laughing cow cheese triangle to a pan of freshly cooked pasta and mix it through over a gentle heat til the triangle is melted - not sure this would work ina microwave though if you're at worksorry
I also do oinion, mushroom and quorn mince browned and mixed with tinned tomatoes and herbsand/or pepper
How about pasta mixed with a cheese sauce and topped with grated cheese and breadcrumbs and browned int he oven, that could be eaten cold or microwaved if you want it hot
I'll stop nowEnjoy your pasta!

if you like robust garlicky flavours, dress your hot or cold pasta with some Cardini's Caesar Salad Dressing, add a few (or a lot like I do!) capers & some coarsely ground black pepper. you can also add some fresh parmesan if you like. very simple but very tasty
nice with crusty bread & green salad if you want to bulk it out a bit0 -
I love pasta and I often cook my pasta in one pot with mixed frozen veg and when cooked drizzle it with a flavoured oil or a cheap salad dressing. Flavoured oils are quite easy to do yourself. I also use a hand blender to make a quick tomato sauce from a tin of whole peeled toms.
Pasta is good mixed with a can of mixed salad beans. I used to take that for my lunch in the summer occasionally.Miss Moneybags0 -
Pasta is nice with a few spoonfuls of pesto. If you are feeling energetic, you could toast some pinenuts in a pan quickly while the pasta is cooking, then add them along with the pesto, a bit of the water the pasta was cooked in and some grated cheese. A dash of balsamic vinegar enhances it as well."Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."0

How about a pastabake you can make some in a big dish and then once ready divide into portions in small dishes and freeze .Take out the night before heat in microwave when required and it's always good.
Here's the basic recipe but you can add anything you want to it:
pasta in any shape except long (i.e. spaghetti)
tomato sauce (I use pureed pasta sauce e.g. Valfrutta from Asda)
mozzarella cheese
mushrooms (add anything you want)
corn
olives
parmisan cheese
breadcrumbs
cook pasta as instructed on pasta packet (remem ber to add salt to boiling water)
cook sauce in a pan this way pour a little oil in a small saucepan , let it heat a little add garlic clove if you want , addd tomato sauce and stir.Add basil if you want
when pasta is ready put in an oven proof dish and mix with the tomato sauce ,add the other ingredients (if adding mushrooms or courgettes or similar you need to cook them before hand) .
cut mozzarella in small pieces and add and mix all together with wooden spoon
turn on grill on high
top the basta bake with grated parmesan cheese and a spoon of breadcrums
put in grill until crispy on top
enjoy:jhalf scottish half italian :100%moneysaver0 -
You can find a lot of yummy pasta dishes on Waitrose recipes.
I am sure there are tons of other websites where you can find similar, but I just got stuck on the Waitrose site0 -

I normally make a pasta like this too and the children love it, however this week I had half a tin of campbells meditteranean soup in the fridge, so simply poured over and mixed into cooked pasta and they think is even more gorgeous than my homemade pasta dish!
How quick and easy is that - boil pasta, open tin and mix...and 3 happy children :j0
