I'd appreciate any clarification that you obtain, Nicko, their T&Cs are less than clear on the subject.
I also sent mine off on 4 Sep but only got a letter dated 9 Sep saying my application was accepted and the documentation would follow.0 -

I received the same letter dated 10th this morning, saying the account documents will be sent out in the next 14 days.
It looks like they have been swamped with applications.0 -
I posted my application for the issue 1 on thursday night and noticed that the postie only collected from the box this morning(Saturday) Must have been the strike?? So, its not going to arrive until Monday or Tuesday or maybe even later. Do you think they will still honour the 6.25% rate?? It was on the correct forms and dated Thursday.
thanks.£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190 -
Likewise !I posted my application off on the 4th September (the day this thread started) and have just now received in the post my welcome pack, passbook, etc.
The opening date I have got is 5th September............. some unusual requirements about when you could pay money in.
So I'm not sure I can make another deposit on 1st October.
I think the next deposit will have to be between 5-31 October
My covering letter merely said "the next payment into the account is due by 31/10/2009".
I have set up a Standing Order for the 6th.0 -
It's per calender month.0

I hope that they will be reasonable and accept that the postal strike will have create problems with the applications reaching them on time. I posted mine on Wednesday and wouldnt be surpised if it hasnt reached them yet - fingers crossed I'll get the 6.25% rateCurrent Debt Owed To Family: [STRIKE]£12,575[/STRIKE] £9,000 :wall:Estimated Debt Free... TBH, posting on Wednesday was probably already too late; it was certainly gone Thu am, so the postal strike wouldn't have made any difference.I hope that they will be reasonable and accept that the postal strike will have create problems with the applications reaching them on time. When I spoke to them Thursday, they said they were acception applications received up until Thursday morning. Would be difficult to prove when your application got there though.

Damn... I thought it went on Friday when it was written on here!
Ah well, suppose 5.5% is still a good rate so will let them create the account and HOPE that I somehow get the 6.25%. If not, I'll just have to make do with the 5.5%
Fingers crossed! :rolleyes:Current Debt Owed To Family: [STRIKE]£12,575[/STRIKE] £9,000 :wall:Estimated Debt Free... [STRIKE]Dec 2012[/STRIKE] Aug 2012
