Mine is cleared today as well. Have the same question.....0 -
They have a freephone number for investments 0800 652 6725. I think I'll give them a call later.0

One account per customer permitted. It's up to them, really. [STRIKE]They could stand on that statement alone or they could interpret the rule more loosely as, for instance, Principality B/Soc and Abbey bank do where their regular savers are concerned - which both brought out 'issues' of the same account allowing for more than one issue to be held by the same customer. If they are looking for a set amount of money at the new (lower) rate why would they mind where the applications were coming from?[/STRIKE] Note that the 'New' form states 'Issue 2' - which suggests it may be possible to apply directly without raising suspicion [as the following poster suggests]Speculator wrote: »My £250 cheque cleared today. I wonder if it would be possible to open an issue 2 as well?.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
Sometimes it is best not to actually ask the question. Once the question has been asked, it is flagged to the staff. I suspect that if people quietly apply for this second issue, then their applications will probably succeed.0

It may be OK anyway. But I would stress the importance of applying from the PDF download taken from the new Issue 2 webpage. I have amended the link on my earlier post to this.........under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
Just called them and they confirmed that you can't apply for an issue 2 account if you already have an issue 1.0
-
I also phoned and they said you cannot have both.0

Well I have applied for the 2nd one as well. Worst case scenario, it will get returned. However on the form, they ask if you have any existing account - truthfully the answer is no, as my application for the 1st Issue
would only have reached them a couple of days ago, and in any case I don't have an account no. yet for that one. So will see what happens.0 -
I posted my application off on the 4th September (the day this thread started) and have just now received in the post my welcome pack, passbook, etc.
The opening date I have got is 5th September.
When I spoke to them on the phone on the 4th there were some unusual requirements about when you could pay money in.
So I'm not sure I can make another deposit on 1st October.
I think the next deposit will have to be between 5-31 October
I'll have to phone them again to check.0
