OS Daily Thread - Friday 4th September

Afternoon all - I am going to have a moaning post today. I went to bed last night with awful back ache and still there today. I am back to work this evening and really not looking forward to a 10 hour shift sitting with a bad back. Out come more pain killers!!!
Also my house is a mess - DIL spent 3/4 hour cooking some courgettes and potatos for baby - (oh the electric used) and has now gone out and left all her mess behind, and little ones toys all over the living room floor. Now I know I've got to be accepting to a point however I think words are going to be in order and I am certainly not clearing it up this time. So I am going to ignore it and hopefully she will clear it when she comes back - (well it better be gone when I come home at 2am - or I shalt not be happy).
Enough of my moaning however i know feel so much better.

Home cooked bacon and courgette quiche from the freezer for my tea at work tonight, with some of the rolls i brought yesterday and some salad.

Hi you lot.. haven't posted for an absolute age so thought I would just share my good news... Mrs M has been discharged by her consultant and we wont need to see him again.. Yippee ( in case you are wondering she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000). I detect a bit of non OS celebrating tonight.
And the blasted dog got out of the field this morning..when i eventually found him, he was lying next to a mangled rabbit looking very pleased with himself. I know it wasn't his kill... he isn't fast enough. By the time I got home I was soaked.. and he just 'knows' he is in disgrace.

Bit too mangled for the pot.. looks like our local fox had had it followed by the buzzards - we have a few roosting in our back hedge occasionally.

Hello, back again...

Nice morning in work, I miss my littlies over the summer hols and it is lovely being back with them.

Sun came out by the time I got back from work, although it is still cold, so my washing is out blowing on the line.

Had a chat with my son's new teacher this morning, we had a few "issues" last year in his old class with him being a bit disruptive, he isn't really naughty more over enthusiastic, and find it difficult remembering to put his hand up to say things and not interrupting the teacher! He has only just turned 5 though bless him. Anyway his teacher said that he had been told off once or twice but that it was nothing she couldn't handle, and that if she had any problems I would be the first to know. Quite reassured by this as his older brother had been rather exaggerating just how many times he's heard him having a row (he is a bit of a Perfect Peter and just loves to show how much better behaved than his brother he is!).

Chilli con carne is cooking. Not sure what to have for pud, maybe something egg based as we have 6 in the fridge and another 12 coming tonight. We get them for £1 a dozen from a friend with a smallholding. Am just lacking inspiration!

Gerturdeanna: have you tried sunlight? It seems to get whiteboard marker out of my kids' school shirts

Sat here tying my garlic into garlic plaits. So much easier now I have learnt to dampen the stems - Thank you google!

Also watching 'Flog it' coming from Torquay and Paul has just done a piece on the Brixham fishing fleet and market. I was born in Brixham though moved when I was about 4, but my OHs parents still live there.

Bitsy - be careful what you wish for. I remember when DS was 10 weeks old looking at my bed & wishing more than anything to stay in it for a whole night. The next night I ended up in a hospital bed as I had developed pneumonia (sp). I ended up on bed rest for 2 weeks!

Had complete change of plans today, ended up in Lakeside after picking my dad who had dropped our new lorry off to the signwriters nearby, then popped into work for a meeting with our clients (this has saved me a trip next week) then dropped back off at the lorry. Have only been in a short while - house is an absolute pigsty and have made no preparation for dinner :eek: think I might have to resort to a takeaway tonight - will have to make up for it over the weekend.

Anway off to catch up on emails. Time seems to be disappearing so fast today.x
