Morning peeps
bright and sunny here this morning, very windy so the washing is out on the line and another load is almost finished.
I`ve just finished cooking some sausages in the remoska and the bm is back on after the loaf was finished, pizza base dough is in there now.
I opened a pack of mince to make cottage pie with only to find that it was in fact stewing steak  the cottage pie has now morphed into curry and is simmering away on the hob. Both the packages are identical and i really should pay closer attention when digging around in the freezer.
I shall be outside shortly with the houndies who are both waiting for their walk, just the right weather for little oldie as he is lots better when the weather is colder outside but he needs to be warm afterwards because of his arthritis, i`m going to buy him a new quilt at the weekend so that he is extra snuggly.
If i have time before i leave for w*rk i have a windowsill to finish sanding down in one of the spare bedrooms, afterwards it will be waxed and i can finish off the framework and get some curtains or a blind up in there, hopefully i can get the radiator refitted in the not too distant future too so it will be a lot warmer in there.
Off out into the sun - looking forward to it as it looks gorgeous.
Have a good day everyone.

Didnt eat much, but it just kept going through me. On the plus isde I've lost 5lb already:rotfl: Spent the whole day in bed. Got up this morning and had a shower, but I'm back in bed now. Just riding it out.

Wash load on, and another hung up - whilst digging through the pile I found my nice top that I only bought a couple of weeks ago and wore it on holiday but its got marker pen on from the bingo - oooops!! Any ideas how to remove it? The top is polyester and so obs I can't boil wash it away!! hehe!
Left over risotto and roasted veg for lunch - didn't have tortilla for tea last night as OH and I were still stuffed after the risotto for lunch!! Kids had bacon, eggs, beans etc. I can't wait till I'm working days again and we can all sit round the table to eat meals together!
Anyways - off to do the assignment and will check back later for any ideas on the marker penned top!!
Gert xxMade it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:0 -
I really shouldn't after the insults yesterday but you know me, I'm so nice.
Here's the recipe for Pickled Zucchini. It's a tasty addition to a sandwich or a salad plate (not that you get much summer :rotfl:) sorry, where were we, oh yes the recipe.
1 kg small zucchinis, finely sliced (courgettes to those that don't know)
1/4 cup salt
2 cups white vinegar
1 cup sugar
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp celery seeds (I'm yet to find these so leave em out)
1 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp dry mustard
Place sliced zucchini in a bowl.
Cover with water, and add salt.
Let stand an hour & then drain. ( I rinsed as well)
Mix remaining ingredients in saucepan & bring to the boil.
Put the zucchini in and let stand for 1 hour.
Bring to boil & boil for 3 minutes.
Pack in hot clean jars, making sure there are no bubbles & seal.
I've made 2 lots now & find there an easy way to use them up. DH eats them straight out the bottle  but he's a bit of a pig.
Bitsy :kisses3: You poor thing. Rant all you like. We've all been through it or still going through it. Hope you have a better night tonight.
Diva That was lucky with DH wallet. What was your reward?
Ruby Glad chutney got thick & your reputation is still intact.
DD still not here yet. Had fish cakes & hot herbed potato chips & peas for tea with a ice-cream from the home ice-cream man that came today. They are so yummy. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Hi everyone,
Purpleivy, my 6'6 son has the opposite problem to yours. He has to wear uniform shirt and tie to work, the sleeves are about 4" too short and the tie (clip on so can't be lengthened), finishes just below his chest. He also has to wear his trousers on his hips to get the leg length.
Sorry for being OT.
Haribo, I hope twin 2 is better now and PP I hope DH hasn't broken his foot, I know it would make life more difficult for you.
OS wise this weekend is meal planning and shopping, I usually do a meal plan and then get sidetracked from it but this week I've stuck to it and it's lovely to look in the fridge and not see lots of waste. It should be easier from now on as well because DS is moving out and I've been tending to buy extras for him.
We'll be helping him to move and have told him he can take his bed and bedroom chair, both new and a desk that is surplus to requirements. He can also take his bedding and some towels. It's such an expensive business setting up home from scratch.0 -
Hi all
DS safely sorted at school again.....got a bit tearful this morning and wanted to come home with me but his 1 to 1 took him off to do an activity and he was fine:D
Making Chicken and chorizo paella for tea. Have first lot of washing on line second lot in.
Have MRI head scan tomorrow at 9am so will be glad when thats over. Have noticed a pattern in my migraines in that I always get one a day or two before my periods and thats really the only time I am getting them now.....so it must be hormonal...strange as I have only started getting them in the last few months...maybe it is because I am 40 in March and oestrogen levels are changing:rolleyes:
OH would say that my hormones changing does have its benefits;)thats all I am saying on that matter or it would be TMI:o;):p
Bitsy as you know DS is a very early riser and always has been...5am at the moment but it will prob go back to 4am in the winter as it always does.....I find the only way to survive is to get a really early night once or twice a week....it makes you feel like you have no life but it makes life bearable:cool:....a couple of nights a week I go to bed at 7 30 once he is in bed and at least I get a good few hours even if he is up pratting about again at 2ish.
MSD our fatcat is another cat who snaffles her biscuits down during the night then brings them back up again:rolleyes:, not pleasant is it0 -
Hi guys,
Chaos and mayhem today. I went to bed last night and found that the cat had piddled on my bed - all the way through - Jumped in with LO but found I couldn't get off for ages. Consequently slept late (DS1 woke me at 8.30 with 'are we going to school today?')Fortunately I was fairly organized last night so we were out of the door by 8.45 am but gee I hate oversleeping. Feeling a little more normal now with my second coffee
Plans today are to wash the bedding off that stinking bed (male cat) I'll have to do the quilt in the bath and hope it dries off pretty quickly on the line as rain is forecast later and waste some more vodka (thanks Moliere) on the mattress.
A hoover through, swish and swipe is in order and then I need to tot up my pennies after the summer holidays. I also will make a lasagne for tea and use up the garlic butter in the fridge for garlic bread.
Work is great - lovely to be back - allthough a third of the clients are suffering from really heavy colds. One member of staff appears to have caught it and I imagine more will follow. Copious amounts of hand gel, aprons and gloves were used as I don't fancy a dose of it.
Right coffee finished, time to move and actually do something.
I hope you all have a good day and gentle hugs to all in need today.

Morning all
Last day at work today for a fortnight as I am on Jury Service next week (and very nervous about it too:eek:) So a little hectic, but just stopped for 5 minutes for a coffee.
I have to go to the hospital this morning to pick up the sleep monitor that I have to wear as part of my pre-op assessment, so that should be fun tonight! Good job it wasn't last night as I hardly got any sleep at all as our very elderly dog was not very well and kept scratching at the door to go out - cue me in the garden at 3.15 in the morning shivering! She seemed a little better this morning but am worried as she will be left more than normal over the next 2 weeks due to the Jury Service - normally I am home quite early afternoon so she isn't left too long but I won't get home until teatime.
Not sure what is for tea tonight yet, too tired this mornng before work to fumble in the freezer - so it could be anything from there. If not egg and chips might come into play:j:j
Right back to work, have a good morning all
x"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D
