Debate House Prices
In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non MoneySaving matters are no longer permitted. This includes wider debates about general house prices, the economy and politics. As a result, we have taken the decision to keep this board permanently closed, but it remains viewable for users who may find some useful information in it. Thank you for your understanding.

What would happen if all the people on this board actually met?

All this meeting people off the internet is kinda weird. As is getting upset by perceived attacks and all that stuff.
To me a forum is just a lot of words and letters on a screen. I suppose there are people behind them, but I never really think about them. I respond to alphanumerical impressions on a keyboard, transformed into rays of light by my computer's monitor.
If people can get offended by words on a screen typed by a disembodied entity, they are far too sensitive.0 -
I think Chuck Norris would like to meet me and shake me by the hand.0

I really do see people on the internet as people. (thats very hard as I see some of you several times over). I think its a bit odd..one is after all, without any visual information, but its not much weirder than choosing people for interviewing by an email submission of a form or letter.0

You don't need a forum then. just a Speak n Spell. All this meeting people off the internet is kinda weird. As is getting upset by perceived attacks and all that stuff.

I'd love to meet some of the people on here - all women, with the exception of Pobby. And Generali, if he wasn't in Oz. TBH, someone said something yesterday about 2 pairs of posters being one person (ie 4 people that I had previously thought were all separate posters, being 2 people), and I am now beginning to seriously wonder if most of the men on this board actually reduce to about 3 individuals who all post non-stop in multi-personas...
Whereas with the women - I'm fairly sure that PN, lostinrates, fc123, Single Sue etc are real people with real lives as described. They all sound nice and normal.
I get the feeling I'd be a terrible disappointment if anyone met me - I don't drink, or v v v v little, for a start. I'm pretty much excatly the same in the flesh as I am on here, with the exception that I don't usually bother to get into arguments with random strangers in real life. (Well, I can think of one particular occasion when I was quite abominable to someone who was gratuitously rude to me on a bus
; I'm not proud of it, and I doubt she's ever forgotten it, either.) I'm just someone's mum in real life - kind of dull, you know.

Oh, I like lots of the boys too.
I'm not in the least normal, which is fine. And I am reasonably argumentative.

Obviously, normal is relative.
