    Concern about what?
about the name Christine being used on replies to my posts.
Have I done the wrong thing?
I dont want to paint mealone as a bad person, honest, but I was freaked out.

lol no she won't care, relax!
I've sent her some pm's to let her know what I have done, and to reiterate I do not feel it is abuse, I have also told her I hope not to cause her any offence.
I also requested she use Bundance in replies to my posts.

bundance, like alwaysonthego said, mealone probably thinks you're someone else. Lots of posters sign their posts with their real name at the end and i'm sure s/he thought it was your name!

Don't worry, i'm sure s/he's not doing it to freak you out.
I'm now worried that the email I sent to abuse@moneysavingexpert will make her cross, and I dont want to alienate her, as her advice is good, and I hate upsetting people.

In boots the chemist today, I was told that I could face prison or a hefty fine.

Look there are just some nasty people, unhappy in their jobs, you met a real life troll, she's a bitch. You obviously have anxiety problems - the cost of your prescriptions will have been far less than the cost of prosecuting, fines, prison... it's simply not in the tax payers interest and the fact you haven't had a reply reflects it's not worth the postage. DMG24 gives universally reliable advice and has worked in this field the pharmacist hasn't. Keep posting if you are worried but really it will be ok.
  • How did the Boots salesperson know about what happened in 2006?

but I will explain how the pharmacist in boots got to know.
Hope I dont bore you lol
I suffer from debilitating anxeity, and it was hard enough dragging myself out to the chemists, (only a short distance away, but I have agorophobia symptoms) to get my antidepressant and anxiolytic medication.
I normally pay for my prescriptions using a pre-pay certificate, but only applied to have it renewed 2 weeks ago, and the renewal has not come through.
I could not remember if I paid when I applied for the renewal, 2 weeks ago, but think that I did. I told the woman, I would be willing to pay normally, just to be on the safe side, and claim back, when my renewal came up.
She said if I thought I had paid, I could just sign the back of the presription form to say I have, but I would be committing fraud if I had not paid.
I asked her what that meant, would it mean they would just ask me to pay up? and it was then that she said a large fine or prison.
I am glad I paid cash for yesterdays meds, as she has kept the receipt which I will use to get a refund once my renewal comes up.
It was at this point I remembered my letter in 2006,and as my already bad anxiety is particularly vicous at this time * (see below) and the letter I sent in 2006 was not responded to, I asked her about it, thinking she would know, being a pharmacist. She said, she wasnt sure, but they probably wrote it off.

This is when I decided i wanted to be certain.
I hate owing money or feeling like I have other peoples money.

*I am on a withdrawal program from benzodizapines my doctor prescribed me, (she told me that if I didnt take them daily, I would not be addicted, but I later found out that I was-due to them having a very long half life)
Although, I have an exsisting debilitating anxiety problem, among other stuff, but the benzodiazapine withdrawal stage I am at in this present time, is making it worse, bordering on irrational.

I just went to the CAB today to put my mind at rest.

I am also under the care of the community mental healthcare trust, and am waiting on another appointment with my consultant psychiatrist.

Now that I have seen the CAB, (I had a panic attack and got really upset in there but the chap who saw me was really understanding and took great care of me) He also said the pharmacists comment was hard.
I am no longer worried about the prescription thing. The CAB said that because I have done the right thing in self disclosing the error, there will be no prison.
I feel a bit stupid for being so paranoid, but worrys are greatly magnified and believed with people in my condition.

Bottom line, thanks everyone on this thread for your helpful posts.
  • Oh I see. Thanks for explaining.

I'm sure the experts here are right. The authorities have bigger fish to fry than someone who's made efforts to put things right.

Yeah, I just figured it out. DUH! I use a nickname Christine on another forum, (more specific to benefits, whereas this one covers benefits only) but a whole load of other money matters - maybe mealone got it from there.

    Sorry mealone
