When I was expecting my first baby I confided the chosen names for girl/boy to my sister, who was expecting her third baby - she already had a boy and a girl, and hadn't chosen anything for child 3. Her's was born couple of weeks before mine - and she called it by the name we'd chosen!
Luckily, mine turned out to be the opposite sex, but I was definitely not happy for those couple of weeks, thinking that if we used "our" name everyone would think we'd copied her, and it had taken us ages to choose, etc............ Never really trusted her since, lol!

If its a boy might you suggest Kale instead of lettice...lol
I dare say she didnt even think of the first one being your favourite name, i decided on a Ben for DS2 from the start but when i had him he didnt look like a Ben (if that makes any sense) so we used an old family surname for a first name, years later a maid that used to babysit for my kids told me she named her son after my DS2, which was really sweet.
could she be pulling your leg over lettice it does seem an odd name for a child but maybe im just getting old :)
But then again people are strange i know a woman thats named her children after the magic roundabout character's

Please read the thread again! It is not the OP's cat that is called Lettuce, it was another poster. :rotfl:

So the baby is not going to be called lettuce, we don't know what the name of the OP's cat was and therefore what the baby is going to be called.
