1st NSD of the New Year here
I've checked my finances and to date they are
Owing -
Original 0% card - £2,600
New 0% card - £1,500 (£500 is dh's which he will give me)
Reward card - £700 will be paid in full once statement arrives.
Savings Account £1550
Current Account £500
SO to sum up I have £4,800 owing and £2050 in savings
I am fairly pleased with this as although I've had blips along the way everything is going in the right direction.
In a couple of days it is the anniversary of me being rushed into hospital and my life being turned around - it'll be 6 years - I faced 3 bouts of major surgery as my intestines ruptured leaving me with many complications including peritonitis and new-pnonia (sp?) then just for fun my body went into shut-down. I was in and out of ICU and had a colostomy. Anyway after 6 weeks in hospital I came home and started the long road to recovery. I had a colostomy reversal nearly a year later and was so close to loosing my job because I'd had so long off work with everything. Then as I was 10 days off going back broke my foot!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I looked upon this time as an eye-opener. I was well over £20,000 in debt and my dh knew nothing about it - I didn't know the full amount. I used this time to re-focus and rebuild things. SO I have been thinking just how far I have come in that time.
I realised how precious life, family and friends are
I now owe less than £3000 which I couldn't pay off tomorrow if I had to
We have had an extension to the house, a new kitchen and have redecorated it all - giving a positive and relaxing home for myself and dh
I have changed jobs
Although I still have some digestive problems they are managable, and I have accepted I'll need to do a procedure for the rest of my life - but it's worth it 'cos I'm stll around to be able to do it
Life is good, I'm happy and in control of it (well as much as anyone can be)
SO I'll be using a few of my positive thoughts for my brother who has been rushed into hospital with a heart condition over the last couple of days - he'll probably need surgery sometime soon. And my Mother-in-law who is 90 and going in for a heart valve repacement tomorrow - think I might be busy visiting hospital.
Have a positive, happy and healthy new yearJanuary spends - £587.580 -

Makes perfect sense Beanie - I think the hardest thing is acceptance - then it can be dealt with however we can
Lol - I've just re-read that last post I made and it was a bag of mixed mutteringsThink it's something to do with thinking about hospitals and this time of year being a time of reflection. Onwards and upwards

Had a lovely lazy morning - the sun is shining through the windows and I'm contemplating a walk with dh this afternoon.
I can't decide whether to take decorations down or leave them up until 6th - decisions, decisions........
My brother has been sent home on medication but needs to see his consultant fairly soon to decide what happens next. As far as I know all is going to plan with MIL and she has gone in today ready for op tomorrow.January spends - £587.580 -
wahay for lazy mornings...good that brother has been discharged and hope MILs op goes well0

I went for a short walk yesterday with dh - but I was shattered - I've had a bit of a cold, nothing too bad but just can't seem to shake it off and I'm sure we are just passing it back and forth to each other. I didn't go to hospital last night to see MIL as I don't want to give it to her.
1st day back at work today - a bit of a shock getting up in the dark and what was that rain and wind all about - NOT NICE at all!!!! Day went ok though.
NSD again today 3 so far for JanuaryJanuary spends - £587.580 -
Well they have sent MIL home again (she went in at beginning of December and was sent home the morning op was due as there were no ICU beds) - this time though - a house doctor came around yesterday after she had been admitted and was questioning some scans she had taken months ago....... so big boss doctor came around this morning and agreed with house doctor about calcium deposits around her heart. They did more scans this morning and the calcium showed up again meaning she will not be able to have the op. I am pleased they aren't going to mess her about and do an unnecessary op - BUT how has it got to the stage where she has been admitted TWICE and ready for surgery before this had been picked up - to my mind this should have been noticed as they were deciding whether or not to do the op - before they ever admitted her, they have been playing with the idea of surgery for about a year now and 2 doctors have had different opinions as she is 90 and querying her general health. It took a lot for her to decide whether or not to go ahead with it. So now they are talking about a less invasive form of surgery which will improve her condition but maybe not be as advantageous to her????????
I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to think - relieved that she is not undergoing major surgery but a little annoyed that they missed the calcium build up and she is now non the wiser as to what happens next. The stress levels she has faced making decisions about it all has done her (or us) no good at all. BUT the doctors did apologise - so all is well in her world LOLJanuary spends - £587.580 -
