News on the ankle is basically what I expected to hear - it's done in and probably beyond repair!!!!!!!
She is sending me to an ortho surgeon that specialises in ankles and feet. The doc I saw today was lovely - it was at a 'farmed out' ortho clinic rather than the hospital. I was in about half an hour - she talked through all my past history - couldn't suggest any better orthotic inserts for me as I already have good ones, my footwear is good but she suggested I try fit flop ankle boots- they might work a bit but they might not make any difference (just been looking on t'internet from £130 :eek:) She pulled up a variety of current and past x-rays and compared to show the deterioration along with dexa scan results. The upshot is that she thinks I could need it fusing together but isn't sure whether bone is strong enough to do it on.........
SOoooooooo - although it's what I suspected it was hard hearing it in words today. Will have to see what surgeon says and weigh it all up.
On the plus - she complemented me on keeping my weight to a reasonably good level- I still want to lose that stone to improve things more
Not done good on the spends front - low but not no spend.January spends - £587.580 -
Sorry bout5 the news about your ankle

Splashed out big time today and bought the fitflop boots suggested at ortho clinic. I'm hoping I get on ok with them.

Also celebrated with my ds - he gets the keys to his new place on Monday - so we had lunch out plotting and planning what he'll do with it - and it needs A LOT doing - but should be great once it's been done.January spends - £587.580 -

I hope the boots are ok too Beanie - so far so good as I'm sitting in them just to get used to them LOL
I've had to smile at the Paul McKenna cd Beanie - think I've only managed to get to the end a couple of times - I fall straight to sleep once I've put it on - usually waking in the middle of the night just long enough to pull earphones out LOL - and I've used it most nights since you sent it. I've lost 2lb and am aware of eating more slowly - recognising when I'm full is rather more difficult and I am enjoying EVERYTHING I eat - just not too sure if I'm still eating too much.
Off to check my lotto numbers - it might be m lucky day...........January spends - £587.580 -
No not my lucky week - got 1 lotto number - off to work again on Monday.............
But at least I have a job to go to and I actually enjoy it - life is good LOLJanuary spends - £587.580 -
MMMMMMMMM - not been around for a couple of weeks..........
I wonder why - could it be because I've been on a bit of a spending spree and been hiding away? - ME THINKS SO!!!!!:o:o
Excuses, excuses I know but it's been dh's birthday and I went a little mad - clubbing together with kids and buying an expensive birthday pressie I knew he really wanted. I've been out for more meals that is good for me - both financially and weight wise - but just in case Paul McKenna is listening I THINK I stopped eating when I started to feel full
I've been in a funny sort of mood - partly due to now past family members birthdays and anniversaries that all fall within a few weeks - I just thought 'what the heck (or words to that effect) - I can't take cash with me' - so I enjoyed it!! I'm not feeling bad or guilty about the spends I did what I had to do and enjoyed it - now I need to reign back in for a while to keep me on track.
I was feeling fed up with the decorating in the lounge - it's about 5 years since it was done, and normally I'd just wait a little longer. But I decided it needed a spruce to make me feel brighter - so I've bought the paper and most of the paint - just need a tub of gloss now. Then I went and ordered new curtains - a luxury - I'm having them made as I have silly shaped windows. I HATE altering curtains and really don't feel up to battling with 100plus metres of material - which is what the nice lady in shop reckoned my 2 windows would take to make my own!! They'll be ready in about 2 weeks - so my plan is to begin decorating the through lounge and dining room at weekend. I'm not going to kill myself doing it - I'm expecting it to take a couple of weeks then I'll clean the carpet and it should be sparkly and bright for Christmas decorations to go up mid December. I actually love decorating - very theraputic and it reminds me so much of my dad as he used to be a decorator.
I go to the docs on Thursday for blood test and ECG results - everything should hopefully be ok then I can stay on the HRT medication and then on Tuesday I go to see the ortho consultant to see what he has to say about my ankle - last person suggested surgery, but I'm not convinced I want that - hopefully there's an alternative..........
So I'm going to be a little more careful this month with the old finances and at least if I'm busy painting it should burn the calories and keep me from the shops and restaurants LOL - I had a spree but not too much damage done - as long as I don't let it happen againJanuary spends - £587.580 -
sounds like you've been having a fab time and why not?...life is for living.
