Tests were basically okish - I have slightly high blood pressure and cholesterol levels but they aren't high enough to need any treatment - they are going to monitor them!! It is a bit of a wake up call to watch diet and exercise more carefully. Nothing I didn't really expect though - the exercise bit is the thing that I think is letting me down. I used to walk miles and swim a couple of times a week but have stopped because it gives my ankle so much agro. He agrees with me - yay - a doctor that sees sense
after weighing up the known risks of taking HRT and the advantages to me with preventing osteo porosis - he is still happy to let me stay on HRT for now. But I do need to put action to lower my BP and cholesterol.
He changed my painkillers for my ankle as I have been on the others for about 7 years and they aren't intended to be taken long term!! I knew these new tablets made me feel sickly as I've tried them before - so he gave me anti sickness pills to take with them - they don't work!! I took 1 tablet last night with the anti sickness pill and felt so awful then felt totally hung over today - I won't be taking any more of those.
I've nearly cleared my living room ready for an early start tomorrow with the painting - I'll pace myself and sit or kneel down for as much as I can - stick some music on and I'll be in my element - very theraputic aaaannnnnddddd.......... it's exercise!!!!!!!
I set out some targets for myself a few weeks ago - I have even managed to keep to some
I have fed George the cat a tenner a week (I had planned a £1 a day but forgot a day and found it easier to do every weekend)
I have kept my nails nicely shaped
I have kept on top of the housework on the whole
I have continued to pay off my 0% cc every month
and... am still paying into my savings account
The garden has been tidied a bit
I have bought most of my Christmas presents - just a couple to go
Haven't made my cakes for Christmas yet......
I'm happy with all that - even though it was an effort to pay all the balance of cc this month!!January spends - £587.580 -

Well I have been a bit of a busy bee recently.
I visited the otho consultant and it was a bit of mixed news......... there is an operation that could be done where he can fuse the ankle together - this will stop it going over and stop the position where the bones hit each other causing me so much agro.........but.............he won't do it on me as my good ankle isn't too far behing my bad ankle and won't be able to take the strain. SO the good news is I won't be having an operation. The bad news is there is little he can do about it. I am going to have a painkilling injection into the joint - but he isn't sure how long it will last - could be 6 weeks could be a couple of months.
I was the star attraction though - the condition that causes my joints to be so lax is relatively rare (unless you happen to be in my family!!) and although the orthopaedic doctors should know about it many have often never seen it in the flesh (so to speak) so he brought a doctor in with him and asked if I minded if he paged the doctor from the fracture clinic to come in and see it - I should have charged them I'd have made a bomb lol. But is is how the doctors learn I suppose.
In between times the decorating is virtually finished - it's been a joint effort with dh and ds too. I have picked my new curtains up today and we'll probably get them up at weekend and everything back into its place. We have been treated to a new fish tank too - so are re-arranging a few items of furniture and will transfer fish once water is ok. I bought some material to cover my dining chairs with. I can't wait to see it completely done and dusted.January spends - £587.580 -

Yup Taxi - it's in my family and everything that has collogen is affected - even the whites of eyes have a bluey/grey appearance. Luckily I've got off very lightly - and had the least amount of fractures of us all, but all my joints are lax. My dad, brother, sister and son have all had many more fractures than me but I'm far more bendy
LOL - probably saved me in the long run. I don't believe in doing anything the easy way LOL So I'm afraid it's a matter of stick to the shoe inserts and unflattering boots - great in winter not so good in summer. But hey life could be a whole lot worse.
Think we crossed posts too Taxi - I've just visited your threadJanuary spends - £587.580 -

MMMMMM........ have just checked my 0% cc balance and have had a bit of a shock!! I have spent far more than I'd realised - this happened by simply letting things slip whilst decorating........ I don't quite believe just how much I've spent on soft furnishings. I have NEVER spent this much before, but with curtains and I've even splashed out on fancy cushions - I've usually either made or bought very cheap ones.
But I'm determined to keep to my plan of paying it off every month. I am going to have to raid my savings to do this and then really concentrate on building them up again after Christmas.
All I can say is that at least I have my savings to fall back on and I do have something to show for it all. I am going to get all my ornaments out and get the house back in some sort of order tomorrow with curtains up, cushions and pictures in place and new fish tank fully functional. The furniture will need a shuffle too. But I am going to enjoy relaxing in my newly done up lounge/dining room and I will get savings back to where they were quickly after Christmas
Just feels a bit like 1 step forward 2 steps back - need to keep my eye on the ballJanuary spends - £587.580
