What a great idea - cinema voucher + popcorn. It would probably make a DVD look a bit more interesting too wouldn't it, and I've got one of those put by for a Christmas present.
I hope your visit went smoothly!
Cheers

MIL's visit went well - usually does now really - but it has taken 31 years to get to this stage. I still feel as if every area of the house, food, me and kids (even though now grown) are being scrutinised in every way for discussion with SIL at later date!! But maybe that's just a hang up on my part from earlier days when they were  - how can a 'sweet' (on the surface anyway) , little 88 year old lady make me feel this way in my own home
Off in search of popcorn today - I was quite pleased with the idea as it is only a £5 voucher and these children get everything they want anyway - but I'd like to get them a little present - something that will not end up in charity shop cos it's not to their taste but not break my bank either.
Going to friends from work with some others for lunch and natter. Sun is shining and I can't believe how fast this week is going.
Have a good Thursday everyone

Had a nsd today - not done too good with those recently. Will start another spending diary from Sunday for November. Hopefully keep a careful watch on my pre-Christmas spends as this time of year is my downfall. I know it comes around every year but I'm never as prepared as I want to be  Must do better next year!!!!!
For Christmas I have got some Morrison's saving stamps and a few presents but still got a way to go. I'd hoped to crack it this half term but didn't get that far - too busy socialising - but cheap socialising so not too bad I suppose
Feel much more in control as I head into November though - put some cash aside for dd's birthday and house warming pressie. Got DH's birthday cash aside for next week. Set up saving accounts and everything chugging along on the debt repayments - not as quickly as I'd like but chugging in the right direction. These birthdays have previously just been added to cc - now if I do use my cc - I pay it off straight away (have transfered old balance to different card at 0% and this WILL be paid before the rate goes up - don't even take the card out with me!!!!) - so things going to plan :j

Had a lovely day today - dh was off work and we went for a long walk in Tatton Park - lovely autumnal colours everywhere and reasonably warm. Bought a coffee out which was a nice treat.
Went for a meal to a lady from works house with a few friends - lovely home made Greek food - so a good day all round again!!January spends - £587.580 -
I love going out on autumn days too. Aren't the colours lovely (when there's enough light to enjoy them).
Good luck with the NSD in November, I must get back into those too.
Cheers
