ouch ouch ouch to the dental bill

the lunch break thing - I think it is fair enough to have a lunchtime meeting say once a week but it shouldn't be more than that even in these circumstances. The company/charity as part of its duty of care to you should ensure you get a chance to take a break.... if something was to go wrong for example due to tiredness or lack of attention or you were to start suffering from stress - it would put them at greater risk of a claim being made against them. it is also illegal to subject someone to a detriment for trying to exercise their rights under the WTR regs

with regard to the iron - eat lots of fruit. Perhaps try flaxseed and linseed - they are supposed to help with constipation - I think you can get the flaxseed in a powdered format now. I only know as it was recommended for people doing atkins!!!

Hope the rest of your week goes better.

DH is saying ouch to at mo - it isn't even on the tooth he went with. That has flared up again and he is on anti-biotics for it - this is another tooth he wasn't having trouble with

Thanks to you both for the ideas :A - have tried all the extra fruit and flax & linseed cereals but not the actual seeds themselves. Laxatives don't work unless I take massive amounts of the strong ones on prescription over several days then they work too well LOL. Consultant is baffled - I've had cameras and scopes every which way and a variety of scans. They don't know why it's not working now or what caused the perforation in the first place - the current strain of thought is that it's muscular. Have got an appointment to see a dietician in November - wondering now if my body can't cope with too much fibre. I have tried cutting out various food groups eg wheat but it made no difference. In the process of changing my consultant as my old one has retired (my old stoma nurse suggested I change and is sorting it for me) to one who is in favour of some kind of self irrigation - she thinks I may be a candidate for it - I'm intrigued to find out more. Just need to wait for an appointment to come through. So I really could do without iron tablets right now - but if it makes me feel better - it will be worth it - just need to be extra vigilant with the laxatives lol

    I have -
    put ironing away :D
dusted downstairs and bedroom units :D
    cleared kitchen worktops :D
hoovered downstairs, stairs and bedroom :D
    mopped kitchen floor :D
got to make bed before I get in it :p

I rested between each job - so it took me all day - and I feel done in now

    Put sewing off yet again

Sounds a lot but it should take an hour or so as it is only a small house and there is only myself and dh. I have decluttered over the last couple of years so has made life soo much easier.

I am feelin very smug here - I have finished hemming my curtains that are hanging at my patio doors. I started hemming these nearly 3 years ago sitting on the floor with my leg in plaster as they hung - I couldn't get comfy so ended up having a mini crisis with myself and left one side pinned up - I have to laugh now when I think of that day. And pinned up they have stayed since January 2007 UNTIL TODAY :T :T

I have also hemmed 2 pairs of trousers by hand - and finished sewing a big cushion on my ottoman - anyone notice a theme emerging here :o - I am notorious for starting a job full of enthusiasm then ........ loosing interest veeerrrryyyy quicky. DH will be in shock if he ever notices ;)

SO to celebrate - I have had a choccy bar - a picnic - not had one of those for years. Medicinal of course because it surely has LOTS of iron in raisins, peanuts and chocolate.

Feel tons better today but haven't done much other than sit and sew - so am having another day off tomorrow to make sure I am really ok and will go back into work fighting fit (I hope) on Friday.

Went back to work yesterday and felt tired after but ok. It was good to be back with the children and was pleasantly surprised that I'd been missed by them.

Had a bit of a wasted day today - I ended up going to Abbey today to try and find out why the direct debits I'd set up to go into my old saving accounts had gone out and come back into my bank account - - wanted to do this at the branch as that's where I'd set it up. When I'd set them up cashier said it was fine.

Apparently they are classed as dormant accounts because it's so long since I'd used them. So I had to sign to say I haven't got another ISA anywhere which has re-opened that account and the manager recommended I close the other instant saving account as the interest rate was rubbish - transfering my total of £2 to my bank account. She was not happy that the cashier had let it all go through in the first place. The upshot is she recommended a different ISA account which I can transfer my £5.50 into :D and then an account locked for a year paying 4% interest - am going in next week to set them up as I said I didn't have time today. But first I am going to look on here to see if I can find any better accounts ;). Should have done that in the first place - and saved myself a lot of hassle.

So was rather naughty and bought a waterproof coat for work (we stay out in all weathers) my old one has had it's day and is letting water in - yuck. A bit of a bargain though £35 for a 3-in-1 from Matalan.

Made a big meat and potato pie for tea with red cabbage - yum - and theres enough left for another tea on Monday night :D

Ooh, meat and potato pie and red cabbage - one of my faves. My Grandmother used to make it (she's from oop north) but I don't think I have made it for years.

I do have some meat, potatoes, and pickled red cabbage amongst my provisions, so I might add it to my meal plan over the next week or so :T

Meat and potato pie is certainly worth adding to meal plan Hypno - had mine in oven all afternoon - it was lovely to come home to the smell of it cooking and a lovely warm house cos not put heating on yet. Would have probably been more economical to use slow cooker but I love the smell of it cookin in the oven - don't ask me why but always smells better than sc to me - took me right back to being a little girl  - used to be a regular Saturday after shopping meal that my mum put in before we had a girls day out and Dad would add potato whilst we were out - that comment just made me think how things have changed without me realising - when I took my dd out we'd eat out - funny how I've reverted back to having something ready for when I got in - and don't think anything of it. Now I know why I ended up in so much debt :o

On the countdown to half-term - a week left :j - I love my job really, although the pay is rubbish - people are great, kids are great but the holidays are by far the BEST thing about it :D:D:D
