Give TK Maxx a check as they've got a MAJOR clearance on ski jackets. I've been browsing and most are around or under £30 and I've seen some VERY big names (and Trespass ones that look LOVERLY!)

Thanks elfin - will check out tk max at weekend. Called to Go Outdoors today - they had one that looked ok for £29 but when I tried it on the sleeves were awful - not a patch on the one I had to return. I want one for £30 with the nice finishes like the ones at £130 lol

It's gone proper cold today - but it is really what we should have been having for weeks now really. I hope the car isn't too icy in the morning - I just about manage to get out on time without scraping the car.

At gp's tomorrow to see what she has to say about the scan I had a couple of weeks ago. Got to go for another scan on New Years Eve morning - didn't think they would be open but that's what the appointment said when it came through the other day. They want to see if there is any change in the cyste that showed up. Then on Monday I'm finally going to see the consultant to see if I'm suitable for a treatment to sort my old digestive problem out. Here's hoping.... I think!!

Yes I still have my craft area in the room - just had to jiggle things about and buy lots of plastic boxes to fit onto the new shelving. I have a fold down attachment which makes a table attached to the old shelving unit. Ikea used to do lots of different attachments which can be added to this shelving range. We bought the originals when dd was a teenager for her to do her art work on as the room is small and there was no room for a desk. As it is self supporting it has followed her round various uni rooms and been set up in many different combinations and it found its way back here again - it wasn't cheap at the time but has more than paid for itself. We just bought more shelves and uprights to add to the new arrangement which have had to be narrower to allow the bed settee to open out. I think I've made pretty good use of the space I have - talk about a multi-function room.

Paid my cc off today - which I plan to do each month now - still have 0% one and am saving to pay it off at the end of it's useful life.

I found some Euros that I'd forgotten about - my passport has run out and I have no immediate plans to go abroad - so have cashed them in and used them along with some cash we had been given for our wedding anniversary earlier in the year to buy a tv with dvd for our bedroom. I was determined to get something to show for the money and not just let it go into the general pot. I'm hoping to have a photo of a beautiful sunset in Cornwall on a canvas for my bedroom too out of the money. That will be all the house finished then - until next time LOL

Not had chance to catch up on others diaries - must do so tomorrow - hope I've not missed anything exciting!!

  • It sounds like a really versatile set of furniture, Milann, definitely got your money's worth there!

Hope you get the coat sorted at the weekend - I think we all need coats at the moment, its really cold and frosty here this morning - hope your car didn't need to much of a scrape to make you late to work - but mine probably will when I go out shortly.

    Cheers

  • Hi Milann
It must be coming up to a really busy time at school for you - does your school celebrate / mark Christmas (I know some don't now). I don't think I would like to be out in the playground at this time of year though - brrr!

Hope all went ok with the doctor...

Yeah - it's the silly season at work - glitter up to our elbows but it's all good fun.

We do a nativity concert for parents, but as lots of our children only do part time and a variety of day, others do full time. It an impossible task to get them together to do it!! So we film it - a cast of everyone - we have several children playing the same characters in different scenes. We've had a real donkey in today for the children to see and filmed a little girl dressed as Mary sitting on the donkey!! We narrate and play the film to parents accompanied by the children singing songs that tell the story in between. There's no pressure put on the kids, no lines to learn. We just get them dressed and let them do it as they will!! Lots of laughs and not a dry eye in the place!!

We have a couple of Christmas parties on the last week. We're in on Saturday for a Christmas fair too - so no rest for the wicked - ooohhhh I must have been sooo bad in a former life LOL.

Still got quite a few pressies to buy and not sure what to get for some of them. I must get my bum into gear and shape myself. I feel a list coming on...

Still got a little pile to do in the bedroom sorting. I'd done most but there are just a few bits that I can't decide where to put - mmm - maybe I'll have to consider the bin - but I'd need them as soom as I got rid.

Should have gone into work for the Christmas fair today - but woke up feeling grotty - headachey and tired. But my digestion has been awful the last few days so I decided not to go. I felt bad at letting the girls I work with down but I am learning to put myself first - it doesn't come easy though!! Boss wasn't best pleased but that's life - I am really turning hard LOL

Had a nsd today as didn't leave the house at all.
