My bargain coat I was so cuffed with mid Octobr when I bought it - turned out to be a load of tat!!!! It was a 'Tresspass' three in one - which I have never had trouble with before. My last one lasted years - this one had a broken zip which I took back and had it replaced with a new coat on bonfire night, then the press-studs came away around the hood. I took it back to today and thankfully they didn't have my size so gave me vouchers to the full value, because I didn't have my receipt, but did have my Matalan card as proof of purchase. I'm a bit miffed because it fitted well and was warm and waterproof too - just rubbish material that kept ripping :mad::mad: so now I've got to start looking for a new coat and find something to spend the Matalan refund vouchers on  Rant over...

Hi Milann
Sorry to hear about your coat. There is one on the Grabbit board here which seems to be a similar '3 in 1' style - don't know whether it will suit? Isn't it annoying when you find something lovely and it doesn't fulfil expectations. At least you got your money back, hopefully you can find something else nice with the voucher?
Hope all is ok with DD? Mine has been and gone. She's had her 22nd birthday, picked up a load more stuff that was here, including duvet from the bed ??? she says her room is too cold, so has taken her duvet from here to put on top of her duvet there, but she has a single bed here and a double bed there so I'm not sure how that will work. And, she's coming back for Christmas so we'll have to get a new duvet anyway for her room. I don't think that was worked out very well!
Cheers

Gave up with the coat for this weekend - I couldn't be bothered looking around the shops for a coat I couldn't get excited about - so have been wearing my Primarni special which must be at least 6 years old that I paid £10 for it and I've never even had to sew a button back onto it!!
Ha - CBM - must be something about daughters and cold bedrooms!! When my dd came back a few weeks ago - her and her oh complained that the room was very cold. It is her old room which is only small - but I converted it into a craft room with a few adaptions and addittions to the adjustable Ikea Shelving system that was already in there. I added an old unit the school I used to work in was throwing out with 15 drawer trays in and did it up (very MSE - even years ago - lol) and bought a bed settee for when they visited. It took a lot of juggling and planning to fit everything in and make the room usable. After dd went home I investigated further to see just why it was so cold in there. 3 walls are outside walls and I realised behind the furniture was quite damp includung behind the bed settee. Sooo... I have spent all weekend emptying the room and rearranging said shelving systems to get the bed settee next to the only inside wall - this has meant I will have to get rid of my faithful old drawer unit from school and a bedding box - but has also meant a trip to Ikea to buy more of the shelving units and plastic storage boxes to house everything that was in there. I really did not want to have to re-do that room - last time I did it was suppose to be its 'forever' look!! Thankfully they still did the Ivan shelving system but a few weeks before Christmas I could have done without spending £120 on shelves and boxes- not very MSE!! It looks ok (even though I haven't varnished any of it yet) time will tell how workable it will be - there is more air space around the furniture to prevent any damp now it is only used occasionally. I have turned the radiator back on - no good saving on heating and spending to cure damp. Will have to look into cavity wall insulation in the near furture I think!!
How far away is your dd - I'm getting images of her travelling on public transport a with big quilt - just managing to see over the top.
My dd ended up spending the night in hospital mid week, but says she feels much better after the treatment they gave her and is going back to work tomorrow. Hopefully they've sorted the problem for her although they can't understand why- sounds very familiar - hop she isn't going to take after me in that department!!
I feel as if I've had a really wasted weekend and feel thoroughly cheesed off. My get up and go has really got up and gone. I need to shape myself and get a bit of Christmas spirit!!

Forgot to say - thanks for the link to the coat - but I really need to try one on before I buy or I end up looking like I've got arms like a chimpanzee LOL LOL - or no hands, depending on the fastening around the cuffs. We have a couple of good sports shops nearby - GO OUTDOORS and DECATHLON - I will venture out on my way home from work one evening.

Hi Milann
DD lives about 3 hours away, I love your picture of her peeping over the top of her duvet on the train on the way home, but we drove her back on Saturday afternoon with all her kit and caboodle! She is definitely like your DD though, a 'cold' person (in temperature - in temperament she is a firey red-head!)
Sorry to hear about the mould in the room, glad you've been able to sort it out and have you still got a craft-room? Hopefully you'll have time to sort all your bits and pieces out and do some crafting over Christmas.
Cheers

hope you've got the room sorted. I know how soul destroying damp can be we have it in the bedroom and it drives me nuts. Anti damp paint has helped bt i've twice now given it two coats as the effect seems to wear off, which isn't what you would expect.0
