Have had a busy weekend - went to a freind's son 18th birthday - it was quite an eyeopener lol - this young man has special needs and is like an 18 month old but with the size and speed of an 18 year old. He had a fantastic night - a Mr Tumble cake and kept going to dj and signed (he is not verbal) for everyone to sing Happy Birthday several times to him over the evening - he beamed as we sang to him. It was a very special night and his parents never expected to see his 18th as it was a virus attacking his brain when he was 2 years old - he was a typical child until then, but my hat goes off to them as he needed 1-1 and 2-1 all evening to secure his safety as he does all the time.......

On Saturday we were treated to a very posh black tie event at a 5* hotel in Manchester - dh's boss is Iranian and it was to celebrate their New Year - it was totally not what I'm used to but was an entertaining evening even if I couldn't understand the speeches and the food was delicious. I wore a dress I bought a couple of Christmas ago and felt very posh lol - could get used to the high life if given a chance ;)

I was chuffed on Monday to get a £12.65 turkey crown in Morrisons for 69p - not had a good whoopsied bargain for ages - have eaten 3 meals and a pan of soup so far and there is still half left - still can't believe I only paid 69 pence for it.

This morning I had an appointment at hospital with my tummy - I have to go for yet another scan - they are pretty sure there is a hernia and that is what is giving me the agro. Previous scans haven't shown anything but since they have to scan when lying flat and it only presents itself when I'm upright - not sure what will show. But the doc was lovely and went right back through my past history - he spent a long time talking surgery and asked how I felt about more...........so we shall have to watch this space.

Going to the pictures later to see something about OZ bet it won't be as good as the original Wizard of Oz - might as well make use of Orange Wednesday whilst we are off work.

Life has been busy here - don't know what is happening to time!! Not too sure what's happening to cash either - every time I go out it seems to be more and more - and only on basics too as I'm trying to run the freezer down and have a big shop for meat at Bury Market. I went recently with a friend and the meat was really good - much better than the supermarket - so if it tastes as good as it looks I'll be happy.

Got my appointment through for the scan on my tummy which is 2nd May so fingers crossed it doesn't show the need for surgery.

    Where is time going to..........
I have had scan which has shown a hernia :( not sure what I am going to do about it. Last time I was at the hospital doc seemed quite keen to operate - but I'm going to think carefully and only have it done if they think it might create a dangerous situation. If it's just a matter of putting up with discomfort I'm getting with no danger to me I'll carry on as if. What I don't want is for my intestines to perforate and leave me in a mess like I was a few years ago..........but first I'll need to see the doc again.

I have to have an interview at work tomorrow as I have had 10 days off sick this year. What will be will be - I'm only off if I'm ill. Half the time it's with bugs picked up from the kids when they are sent in poorly!!! Could prove interesting if I have to go back in hospital.........

Otherwise not much happening - I have been busy helping out with family. I have got back in my target weight range so don't have to pay.

Not been around for a long time - mainly due to some uninvited visitors entering my house and relieving me of my laptop, all the phones in the house and my handbag complete with contents......... I was less than amused. It was our own fault because we'd gone to bed on a very hot night and forgot to close the downstairs windows. That said - I don't feel the urge to enter and take items that don't belong to me each time I see an open window aannnddd I don't take woolly gloves to wear on one of the hottest nights of the year!!! But it could have been much worse - they could have ransacked the place and come upstairs to find us - they were only 'things' - things I miss but nothing that can't be replaced in time.

We weren't insured either - one of the things I cut back on years ago when I couldn't afford it but they wouldn't have paid out as it was our own fault. Lessons to be learned there me thinks ;)

Life is plodding along as usual - there have been some big expenses of late so it's time to do a bit of a re-focus on the cash front....

I have finally got use of a decent laptop after being burgled in the summer. I have let the kettle go off the boil with finances and really need to reign in again.

SOoooo - need to set some challenges for myself.

I have some things planned for next week - they will cost some money that I have set a budget for.

My second job has gone as I was in hospital and I realised I was doing too much and no amount of cash is worth making myself ill for so I handed my notice in - hope I have done the right thing as I am still on a temporary contract even though I am in my 4th year...... but that is how the schools seem to employ TA's in this area.

I now have a gorgeous little gd so need to budget travelling expenses in every few weeks to get my fix of cuddles ;)

I need to get back into target range so I don't need to pay a fiver a week at slimming word. Only 2lb to go on that - should be in the next couple of weeks - or even this week if I shape myself.......

A store cupboard cupboard challenge and spending diary are definitely on the cards too....... so I'll go ahead with my plans for this week BUT am ready with notebook at the ready for next Monday. No idea what date it will be next Monday but it's going to be the start of my
FABULOUS FEBRUARY FINANCIAL FITNESS regime - if I think of the 4 f's it might keep me focussed.

Off to do some catcing up on some diaries and threads.........but am very saddened to hear about Taxi - a very brave lady who certainly inspired me.
