Been off work with some sort of flu like virus - not full strength flu but nasty enough and it feels as if it's going to my sinus. Feeling very sorry for myself.......... had to go for an x-ray to my neck which has been playing up and clicking really badly when I move it - this has been happening since I dragged a bag on wheels around London in December. Think I'm just getting old and decrepid LOL LOL

DH has come home from work and like a good percentage of the population his job looks as if it is in real trouble. They will know more by Easter......but things need keeping in perspective. SO it's tighten the belt and get things in order to support him if the worse should happen. He has been made redundant twice before and fallen straight into a job - but he is nearing 60 this time around and the job market isn't as it was. BUT it might never happen - so positive thinking and being like a boy scout - as prepared as we can be ;)

know the feeling about being frustrated at trying exercise and it setting stuff off.
My DH has a fluey type thing too that came on yesterday and has knocked him completely off his feet.Hope you feel better soon.
Wishing you luck with your DH hoping not to be made redundant x

hope your dh is on the mend and you don't pick it up Taxi - it's horrid - and you have more than enough on your plate.

I feel much better today but I've not done a great deal so not dashing back to work until Monday. I've learnt in the past feeling ok at home can be a whole different ballgame than feeling ok with kids at work that need us to be 100%. Still been waking at silly o clock with stomach discomfort so go back with that in a couple of weeks - can't be too serious as nothing had shown on scans but it's annoying. So everything taken into account I am looking after myself ;)

Went to Slimming World and stayed the same - not surprised as I haven't wanted to eat EXCEPT for chocolate digestives - so should be pleased I've stayed the same. I want to lose 2 lb next week to get back in target so I won't have to pay. I feel much better now but still haven't done a great deal. I will potter around tomorrow and build up over the weekend ready for work again on Monday.

I have been trying to close a Skippy building Society account with 50 squid in but can't get online - will have to sort that tomorrow by calling customer care........not sure WHY I ever opened it LOL I had great intentions of squirreling a little away each month when I opened it last year but have never been able to access it - I must be one of the worse technophobes going and it seems a really complicated site....... kept telling myself I'd sit down when I had time to sort it. Anyway enough is enough and I'm going to use it towards paying off my last loan - I had a statement last week and it's now 8,255 pounds - all going in the right direction and every little overpayment will help. I should have 4 years of payments left on it but want to get rid of it as soon as I can. I am quite pleased as that is the total amount I owe anywhere. Mortgage and cc's are all done and dusted - just this loan to get shot of now ;) When it gets a little lower I will do a bit of jiggery pokery and get it on a 0% card but I need to get it to £5000 before I can do that.

Actually been mortgage free about 6 years - then we took out a big loan for house extension which worked out the same payments as mortgage used to be. DH looked after that - last payment goes out this month which is good - especially if the shop he works at goes down pan - which is what he is expecting........... but he often gets his 'Eyore' head on and looks on gloomy side - although I can understand why he is thinking this way and it is justified this time - fingers crossed and wish for big commercial order to get them out of danger.

When kids were little and I couldn't work - dh paid bills and I paid for food and everything else kids/house needed. It worked well for us and we have more or less carried on in that mode - but it's very flexible and we work it between us - both have our own bank accounts (both in both our names) but I look after mine and he his - either is accessible to us both if necessary

Waiting for PPI decision to be made too - should know by mid April.

LOL could get used to being off work - but I know the novelty would soon wear off!!!!!!!!!! This bug has now progressed to the sore throat from hell stage - which hopefully should wear off quickly. Back to reality on Monday

My mind has been working overtime - plotting and scheming with pie in the sky ideas that MIGHT just work should dh find himself out of work. Deep down I know we need the security of full time work but a teeny tiny bit of me is wanting something different to happen and the opportunity to 'take a chance' - something we would NOT give up a real proper job for - but it would be a whole different ball game should it be forced upon us.............. I can hear my poor old mums voice in the back of my head telling me to be careful what I wish for!!!!!!!!!

I went back to work on Monday and feel as if I've never been away - it is lovely though as the children all enquire about you if you are off and seem genuinely pleased when we go back. We break up on Friday for Easter but I'll go in and help at a playscheme for the 2nd week and hopefully get a few hours at my 2nd job for a couple of days of the 1s week. I still want a couple of days off with dh though.
