Thanks for bringing this thread back up! I've flown with easy jet many times and never knew about this loophole!0

Well, as this thread has been 'bumped', I can definately confirm that 2 adults on the same booking, checking in at the same time, can check in 32kg in one bag without paying extra charges.
Have done this ourselves on our last 4 flights without any problem. Hope this helps a few people.0 -
Each of your three bags can weigh 32kg each as you have 100kg allowance between 3 bagsRessurecting this thread - interesting reading - though I have just paid for 3 bags between 5 of us with Easyjet. But at least my mind is at rest that 2 of them can weigh up to 32kg and one 20kg............. but then do I really need to take that much stuff ... lol0 -
Easyjet appear to have revised their hold baggage allowance policy as of 13th October 2010. It seems clear that the pooled baggage weight allowance now applies only if you have paid for a bag each.
"Every item of standard checked ('hold') baggage will incur a fee.
Payment of the fee entitles each passenger who has paid the fee to check in one item of hold baggage with a maximum weight allowance of 20kg per passenger. You may carry additional items of hold baggage upon payment of the fee per additional item, but this does not increase the weight allowance per passenger. The 20kg weight allowance per passenger may only be increased by payment of the excess weight charges set out below.
Passengers on the same booking who have each paid the fee for an item of baggage may aggregate their weight allowances and distribute the weight allowances across their combined hold baggage. This is subject to a maximum acceptable weight for each single piece of checked-in hold baggage of 32kg. Baggage which exceeds this weight will not be accepted for carriage.
The applicable online fee will be displayed at the time of booking baggage (whether during or after booking your flight). Alternatively, you may choose to pay a higher charge at the airport. You will be advised of this charge at the airport.
Where checked-in hold baggage exceeds 20kgs in weight per passenger who has paid the fee (subject to the above rule), an excess weight charge per kg up to a passenger maximum of 50kgs will be payable at the airport, as follows. You may also pre-purchase excess weight at a discounted rate through easyJet.com"
(my italics)
I'm not sure if this would apply to bookings made before the change, in theory it shouldn't, but I might be inclined not to risk it.0 -
That is good to know as I thought you could take a bag of 32kg and only pay for one. Thanks for the info.0

Oh i'm so glad I booked my flights before the 13th October! My bookings (for December this year & June next year) both say 1 checked bag between all passengers combined upto a total combined weight of 32kg. When I look at my booking details I can see that they've amended it to show that I can take 20kg PLUS 12kg extra.
If I try to book flights now with 1 bag, it says 20kg.

I have exactly the same question, and it seems to have been answered above.
We're flying to Germany this evening, and have booked one bag between the two of us.
Interestingly, the flight booking details on Easyjet.com still show our baggage allowance as 32kg (it hasn't been amended).
But it does appear that they've now amended the regulations to make sure that you're only going to be able to take 20kg for each bag paid for on any new booking.0
