    Hello my lovelies,

I am so chilled it's pure heaven - cant remember the last time I was this relaxed :o.

I stuffed the final laundry loads into the machine this morning & we headed into town. I remembered to make use of the free sunday street parking so saved about £2.50 on that :D. DD was desperate for one of these aliens in slime but the toy store had run out :( but we got this amazing stretchy ball instead. It looks rather like a puffer fish :rotfl:.

Decided to stop off at the bakers to get DD a sausage roll & gingerbread man & I had some orange juice. I received another £2 coin in my change so now only need one more to pay in ... bet I dont get another one for months.

I had a very good look in Topshop & D Perkins but I can assure you that no cards left my purse & no purchases came home with me - I am a reformed character :D

We then whizzed over to my sisters where I donated one of the pairs of sandals I bought off ebay that I know I will never wear as they are just too big :(. They fit her perfectly & she loves them :jso more karma earned, which was instantly returned by her rewarding me with a fab pair of silver birkenstocks which were too small for her but fit me perfectly. Result all round :D.

The weather was perfect, the food gorgeous & we went for a potter up the river, spotting herons, cormorants, martins, various ducks, geese swans & buzzy things like dragon flies. We then played with the new squishy ball for ages & just hung out having some simple relaxed fun & chatting with other peeps living on nearby boats.

It is such a perfect location & I came away feeling that I need to make a decision about what I do actually want; camper van or boat & at the moment it's the boat that pulls at my heart strings the most. A boat would provide the alternative life that I so long for, but in a very relaxed way. A camper van has to go on roads to get anywhere & driving is not really relaxing & scenic in this country & let's face it; roads were created in order for people to travel. A river just is. Many have been & are used for transportation but that is not their raison d'etre.

Other news is that I havent done my ironing but I have paid another £100 off the debt - Virgin CC now at £3,500.

Time for me to head off to [STRIKE]ebay & drool over boats [/STRIKE] bed for some sleep :D

    night night
    xx

An alternative is to forgo the camper van (which is large and difficult to maneover) and to get a large caravan and a fast two-seater sports car. Leave the caravan somewhere and go travelling the back roads in the sports car. No one seems to go by country road any more, which makes them much better.

It would have to be a very small caravan to be towed by a two seater sports car. Perhaps the more sensible option would be a Winnebago with a drive up ramp for the sports car. Apparently the new deluxe ones also come with jacuzzis.

Not really, sports cars are very low to the ground, have a surfeit of grip and are very stable. And with 2-300 bhp they have more than enough power to drag anything around.

It looks odd, and you can't fill the boot with [STRIKE]crap[/STRIKE] essentials, but they will work well.

However the maximum permissable tow weight of a Mazda MX5 is zero so in towing anything you'd invalidate your insurance and risk being slapped with a reckless driving penalty if caught.
