I watched some awful Underage and Pregnant type thing, which was enough for me! Back from the Fringe and all my floating about now. Had a fab time. Decluttering and doing some bits and bobs today. Look forward to your update later lovely X'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Err yes they do, & then to show their gratitude they spend the next 6 months bringing unwanted gifts such as half a mouse, numerous frogs in varying stages of death & occasionally just a handful of feathers.

Hi Taxi, how's you my lovely ?
sorry for not staying here last night - I was utterly riveted to the awful programme about the 2 women who ran onto the M6. It was shocking & yet unpleasantly fascinating at the same time.
Shoe Gal - you will be glad to know that our kitty is alive & well, which is more than can be said for the frog that he caught last night. I was in the bath at the time so DD had to deal with it & she wasnt impressed at all. Yes, I could have got out of the bath, but she wanted a cat & I'm a firm believer in making sure that children know what's involved in pet keeping. She shrieked everytime the frog tried to jump but did take it to the end of the garden & release it back into the wild, so I am very proud of her.
Work-job is busy but not too stressful at the moment. I've managed to overcome my irritation with Highly-Annoying which has been helped somewwhat by Goblin's current frame of mind. She's been in a foul mood this week; snappy, irritable, moaning about everyone & basically behaving like a cantankerous, middle-aged old bagwhich has made me very determined to remain my usual cheerful, flirty self
& to just get on with everyone so that I can never be accused of behaving like a middle- aged old bag. I'll be having some serious HRT if I ever get like that.
Home-job has been slow this week & although I have enough to top up the cash funds, there's not a lot else left over. I dont mind much though as I'm detesting it & the time it takes up & determined that I'll be quitting it by the end of January latest - January as it might well be handy to have that extra month's earnings after christmas.
I do need to work out a new budget which doesnt include home-job earnings just to make sure it really is doable, but if I can get the debt to £1,000 or under by the end of this year then I'll only have to find £250 a month until the 0% runs out & I start having to pay Council Tax again. It has to be worth it to get my life back.
I admit to being a bit scared of giving it up & essentially relying on just work-job to bring in the money, but I can of course still do surveys & will have the most precious commodity of all; time to try out new ventures.
Sometimes it's necessary to take risks in order to gain something else & I'm nearly ready to take a step towards to my new life & leave that old one behind.
I've now received the cheque book, debit card & new pin for the new current account. All that's lacking now is some new money to put in it so I can switch all the direct debits over. I've given the details to Goblin who deals with the accountants & payroll company, but dont have much faith in her actually 'remembering' to do it in time so I've taken steps to ensure it by writing the details on my overtime form ( which is filling up nicely)& the date I gave them to her.
DD & I are now counting the days left at work & camp; it's now just 6. We have enough cash to see us through as I still have the Quidco drip account to fall back on if necessary but I will need to fill up the car again as I've done a lot more travelling than usual this month. We had to shoot in to the co op on our way home & spent £3.70 on bread, milk & some fries so I now have £62.41 left of the grocery budget.
I've done all the decluttering necessary so we live with just what we need I've cleared a few more items from my wardrobe & tomorrow I'll tackle the jeans. No weight loss has occurred & I've been having some very unsettling ligh-theaded moments during the last week so I'm half wondering whether to make an appointment with a doctor, although internet research leads me to self diagnose low blood pressure, anaemia or some mild form of thyroid disorder. It's definitely not dizziness/vertigo & I eat well so it's not low blood sugar.
The cat is refusing to 'hear' me whisting for him to come in so I'm off to bed & will just have hope he doesnt bring home any more gifts.
Will catch up with everyone elses' diaries over the next few days,
bye for now

Hi LULA,
Am fine thanks...just tired xxx
your cat certainly likes bringing you pressies..yuck
time is definitely a commodity worth having and please do go see a dr and don't ignore stuff...it's probably something simple but best to know for sure xx0 -
Hi Lula!
I heard about that programme ... it sounded awfuland I can understand you being riveted.
It sounds like you've really got stuff under control, and you're fast heading to debt freedom, lovely! Tho cos I'm a newbie on your thread, I don't know what your home-job is ... have you said, or would you prefer not to? Quite understand if you don't want it on.
If you're looking at just doing surveys and bits in the new year to tide you over, have a think about matched betting, by the way - I haven't done it for a couple of years, but I made about £1200 from it, not shabby at all, and offers do come up regularly. You need £100 or so to start you off, and you need time, as you say, to read everything through and practice over and over.
Time ... I wish I had time right now - I'm working hard at not getting frazzled with the move and whatnot, but it doesn't leave room for much else. I bet you're looking forward to your holiday - sounds great, and you've prepared really well.
See you later

Ooooh to only having the one job, no stress in an evening and no pressure to work from home on top of everything else. Sounds preftly doable especially as there seems to be plenty of overtime available at your other jobn and the potential to work Fridays, even alternate ones if things are a wee bit tight. Once the final £1k is gone you'll be able to breathe a huge sigh of relief and start saving up a safety cushion just in case which will give you tons of peace of mind too.
Considering how far you've come in the last 12 months this is indeed truly awesome!Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Good evening to all :hello:
I have my happy head on - no home-job, normal service seems to have resumed at work-job & I'm nearly done with sorting through the direct debits for new account.
Thanks for all the lovely supportive & encouraging posts, I really do value them all.
KC - as to home-job, it's not a secret as such, just that it would make me so easily identifiable to friends, family, colleauges & the odd foes  who stalk this site . My financial status however, is a secret :shhh: from all the above apart from DD1 . I shall PM you & you can then laugh your socks off ... for those who enjoy cryptic clues I shall merely say that I smooth away the wrinkles of the idle rich of Surrey.
Grumpy was back in the office today & was in a great mood - back to the usual rudeness, throwing balls of paper at me while I'm on the phone & being sarcastic. His return has cheered La Goblin up no end & the result of his meetings was that we have won another large contract which is fixing up to be Project Stress number 2  but will kick off just as the current one ends so we all have plenty of work to keep us going & I have the opportunity to earn more money :T. It's a real buzz & I really feel that we can all pull together & make it really slick this time round without too much drama.
As Moo says, I'm quite happy to rock up on fridays as long as it's on a 'needs must' rather than contract basis ... gotta keep something back for future bargaining.
As soon as we got in I started the round of phone calls to change Direct Debits & have now done them all apart from the Pet Insurance & Car Insurance which only have one more payment to go before they run out & as I have enough in the account to cover them, I will let them roll out & then renew ( through Quidco of course) using the new account.
I've double checked when the Virgin 0% runs out & it's actually the 4th April which means 33 weeks left to clear it & paying a rather scary £106 a week to ensure I reach that target.
I topped up the cash funds today & it's all going to plan :
Childcare : £ 135 so another £10 until half term is paid for
Trips/Treats : £ 240 so another £10 until holiday target achieved
DDs clubs : £ 120 so 2 months PGL now paid for.
I spent some quality time with my calculator & budget sheet last night with a view to testing out how finances will look without home-job; & although the end result is 'tight', that does include me being generous with some categories so as to allow a bit of room for manoeuvre if necessary.0 -
Gosh I feel drained today, but the weird swimmy head shifting seems to be subsiding
& I think that's got something to do with me not having a slimfast shake for breakfast.
My role in the summer project is very dependent on a whole chain of events & other people completing their tasks, but I am confident that I can complete & hand over to Highly-Annoying by next thursday.
Grumpy was rather 'pervy' today & is becoming somewhat bolder in his declarations that I dont know what I'm missing . I'm definitely not missing the old married guy who is my boss . He kind of irked me today when I explained (yet again) why I was doing longer hours & he retorted that he was so glad he didnt have to send his son (private school)to day camp during the holidays & asked " dont you feel guilty?". Through gritted teeth I reminded him that I dont have a wife to do the child caring so I dont really have a choice.
When I went to collect DD & the fire brigade were there - letting all the kids try out the hose ( I did try to get in line to have go toobut DD wouldnt let me) & she then told me that the travelling farm had been to visit & she'd been playing with ducks, rabbits, piglets & lambs & next week they have a magician coming & a circus skills workshop & a party on the final day I didnt feel so bad at all
.
Almost a NSD today apart from being compelled to snap up some Body Shop bargains - body butters & lippy at half price, free eyeliner & delivery & 18% quidco cashback too.
We nearly whizzed to waitrose to do a bit of shopping on the way home, but it was chucking it down & I hadnt done a list so decided to give it a miss.
I did receive £3.50 Tatco vouchers so will use them to fill up the car next week, I keep getting screend out of surveys & am getting very very fed up with valued opinions sending me surveys that expired 5 days earlier . I'm close to a payout & will probably close my account there when I do as its just a waste of time at the moment.
Stupid f***wit xbf sent an email today, 'reminding' me to watch the meteor shower tonight . Was tempted to reply that if it was likely to land on his home then I'd be in the front row & cheering. I cannot explain just how boring it is to have him crop up every so often -what a sad git. It annoys me that it annoys me.
