Hi Horace,
glad you're back safely too & it was great to meet you & finally be able to put a definite face & voice to you.
I had a lovely journey home, clear skies & clear mototrway - I do like motorways at night, they are very peaceful & soothing. I was glad to get home though & rather looking forward to getting in my bed, it was only then I remebered that I had stripped all the bedding off in the morning & hadnt got around to remaking it before I left for the Rave. Cue some hasty bed-making at 1am.
I've been paid £14.83 by Quidco :j which nearly compensates for the grocery budget now having only £95.98 left .
I stood at the front door, whistling for at least 10 minutes before the cat showed up ... & hopefully if I stick to the routine he'll eventually learn what time to come in
Pc still sounds odd but only when using the forum, all other sites seem fine :think:0 -
Good evening my lovelies,
All is well in Lulaville tonight apart from a superfluous amount of bank accounts here.
I really didnt think this whole 'getting a new bank account' malarkey through ( no change there then).
I logged on to check that my little old cashminder account was showing the correct balance & all that all standing orders had occurred & to my horror discovered that I now have 6 separate accounts with one bank .
Actually one of those showing is the CC which should disappear very soon & another is the ISA which has a whole £10 in :rotfl:.
The good news is the 2 extra accounts mean I now have the current plus account complete with free £200 overdraft ( not to be used except in dire emergency of course) & the 'BOGOF' style linked savings account.
I have absolutely no idea as to how the savings account is linked & what purpose it serves . I already have a savings account which I use to save for all the funds like gas, electricity, car tax, car maintenance, presents & the slush fund. I'm not sure what type of savings I should use the 'linked' one for.
I got all excited when I discovered that they provide a switching service for all the debits & credits ... swiftly followed by a feeling of 'oh why did I even bother to do this' when I found out it only applies if you swich from another bank .
Nice man told me that it's all down to me to sort out the 3 separate creditors, 2 standing orders, 9 direct debits & paypal account _pale_ .
Oh joy.
It has been a NSD today & I have completed 2 new surveys, done home-job & work-job & also watched Avatar with DD. I have also been lurking on the savings thread & am actually quite keen to start a savings diary once I'm Debt Free. Dont laugh - I'm serious, I plan to fill up an ISA & also get a proper slush fund going with the usual 3 months income & outgoings in it.
I very much doubt that I will ever be able to afford to buy my own home in this area, I heard on the morning news that people should be prepared to save up to 40% for a deposit which would mean about £80,000 for me & frankly I'd rather have more shoes, but I could aim for a boat or beach hut0 -
Morning Lula...I really love your writing style.
The savings fund sounds like a great idea...savings open up so many more oppurtunities...0 -
Hi doll, no time to read all through but just to say it's no bother about not meeting up, we'll do it again. LOVING London, went to see Priscilla last night, it was fab XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0
-
A big HELLO :hello: to the wonderful Taxi - who I met on saturday - & welcome lovely lady to my humble Quest.
Souk - you fabby thing, so glad you're having fun in London - leave a bit of stuff in the shops for the rest of us though eh. I now have Priscilla envy - sounds so much fun
.
Well, here we are on a wet wednesday but it's not so bad as 1) we're half way through the week now, & 2) I have just finished heinous home-job for the week having earned enough to top up all the cash funds & maybe have a bit extra to save for my time off.
Gropey Boss is now on leave & I was surprised not to have received any emails from him all day, as he'd told me that he was going to bounce them all to me & Grumpy. The surprise wore off when I opened up my home inbox a couple of hours agosilly man has forwarded them to my home email . I'm now hoping that the IT guy can redirect them back to work email ... or in 2 weeks time I cold be very very hacked off.
'Highly Annoying' is trying very hard to be 'Highly bluddy project-sabotagingly Awkward', I've never come across such a negative 'cant do' man in my life . I'm just not sure whether he genuinely has difficulty with understanding certain information - in which case I'm happy to make things as clear as possible & help him out - or whether he has certain 'issues' about me being female & feisty in which case he just needs to accept, get over it & on with the job.
Whoops, I think I said I was going to be quiet about work  ... sorry.
I have no other news of great importance or interest, except that it was a NSD & I dont really count those now as the effort involved seems to have made my Very Spend Days even worse.
I'm off to try to lure the cat in now,
night night

Hey Taxi,
thanks for your post, in case you fall asleep before you find out why the characters have these names here's a brief resume :
The Scene :
One smallish business & 2 bosses ( they own the company so I've already hit the woman-proof glass ceiling)
The Cast :
I was hired by number 1 boss; Gropey ( so called because he has a fondness for giving me reassuring hugs while I'm standing up & pats on the shoulder while I'm sat down, which gives him a clear & unobstructed view of DDaphne & DDelores ( my 32DD twins).
I'm not up for the hugging but do allow him the occasional peek of the twins as this keeps his mind off the fact that I'm a bit gobby & not that brilliant at following orders.
Number 2 boss is Grumpy who was not impressed to find me there when he returned to work after his operation. Shame really, but there we go he just has to lump it. He's basically torn between wanting to hit me over the head because I'm not afraid of speaking my mind & also wanting to get me into bed. This & the fact that he really doesnt want to be working at all make him very very Grumpy.
CockneyRebel is the funny guy who is project managing our current workload & who I try to co-ordinate outfits with just to amuse ourselves. We are on hol at the same time & desparately trying to get our project set to run smoothly while we're off.
HighlyAnnoying is the guy who's job I took over during Project Stress ( now over) when he was 'conveniently' off 'sick' for weeks. He had an 'accident' in the second week of the project & made a miraculous 'recovery' in the last week & just as his full pay sick leave came to an end. He is a pain & dedicated to the cause of being an obstructive, awkward jobsworth.
(Green-eyed) Goblin is the only other female there who was an acquaintance who introduced me to the Boss in the first place & now does a very good impression of wishing she hadnt. Still not quite sure what her issues are, but I suspect it may be to do with her not-so-secret crush on Gropey & the fact that I'm younger & single with attitude. She is dependable, dull & sneakily clocking up loads of extra hours under the guise of being a 'trooper'.
There are many other characters who may have a larger role in future epsidoes but these are the ones who have the starring roles & the irksome ability to make my work life either heaven or hell.
Home-job is nowhere near as exciting :rotfl:0 -

But those that work there are hard-working, bright intelligent and sexy - what more could you want?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
"We were born and raised in a summer haze." Adele 'Someone like you.'
"Blowing your mind, 'cause you know what you'll find, when you're looking for things in the sky." OMD 'Julia's Song'0
