    Thanks Buffy :A

I actually cut the card into quarters & popped it in the envelope along with the credit card cheques too & a short letter saying farewell :D.

Then it was off to the dreaded Tatco where I kept reminding myself that it was all about the money saving & nothing else. The main purpose was to stock up on household & basic toiletry items & there were many bargains to be had. I now have the dilemmas of trying to stash away the biggest box of washing powder I have ever seen :rotfl: It was half price & the same brand as the one I recently tested out for a survey & points & one that I would never previously have used; but times are 'ard & beggars cant be choosers etc etc.

I didnt actually buy anything value as I forgot the shortbread finger biscuits & I was about to throw the 10p noodles in my trolley when the calorie content hit me as being extreme -385kcal for a 66g pack with 22g of fat . I checked the branded noodles which were 168 kcal for a 100g pack & only 7.9g of fat. They were on offer, so I might have spent £1 more but I have saved my poor arteries a clogging :p.

I am however, loving the 2p notebooks & mega multi packs of crisps that brings the cost per bag down to just 13p & they were on offer so I bought 2 bags & have hidden one :D.

We finally got to the till which was in the charge of the amusingly named 'Princess' :rotfl:. I can honestly say that I have never seen anyone less Princess-like in my life & if that's where being a Princess gets you these days, then I'll stay a commoner thank you :p.

We escaped having spent £ 75.07 of which £66.54 counts as groceries & household items.

Filled the car up & it only cost me £35.51 so a lot less than last month :)

I refuse to buy nasty, bendy, sweaty, Tatco cheese so we had to go to aaaaaah lovely Waitrose ;) to get some & got a few other bits such as frozen stuff in normal rather than army sized portions & ended up spending another £18.66 of the grocery budget.

    Day 1 & I've spent £85.20 & have £114.80 left.

I've transferred £200 into the savings account funds & topped up the cash savings funds.

    Gas & Electricity £ 244
    Car Tax £ 30
    " Maintenance £ 20
    Presents £ 140
    Slush Fund £ 30

    Childcare £ 110
    DDs clubs etc £ 90
    Trips/Treats £ 210

It's actually all looking good & for the first time in years I do feel as though I am in control of my finances & also my spending .

I have also applied for a new current account & now just have to wait for the results ...

I might have to get Gordon out later to help me celebrate but right now there are bikes to be ridden so

    bye for now

I always think your posts are very well thought out & full of excellent advice :T

I've already had an email to say that my new current account application has been approved, subject to a few formalities

I was going to start with Good Morning, but then realised I'm too late for that :o.

The 1st August ; Lammas, Lughnasadgh or simply the beginning of the harvest. The time to start preparing for the winter ahead.

I am not participating in any specific rituals this year, but I spent yesterday in a circle of company; some truly wonderful people who all have such warmth, humour, energy & courage that I feel honoured to have met them all.

Guys, I'm loathe to name you for fear of missing someone out, but you know who you all are & in my opinion you are all :A.

After all the excitement of The Rave on saturday I had a lovely drive home on a virtually empty M25 with so many thoughts flowing through my mind.

I have really taken note of both Karmacat & Taxis thoughts on decluttering & letting go of stuff; & while I keep telling myself that I long to live a very simple & non materialistic clutter free existence, I am the person who is actually preventing that from happening :wall:.

I refuse to get bogged down in too much navel gazing - life is too short, but why on earth am I holding on to possessions that have no place in the present & therefore cannot possibly hold any value in the future .

It's ridiculous & it's holding me back from so many potential opportunities &making my everyday life so much more complicated & awkward than it should be. I am giving myself until the end of this month to either sell stuff or give it away, it has to go; the shed is full of bikes, wood, shelves & empty unused pet equipment & the dump is closed for another 21 weeks.

The cat is circling me with a very disgruntled look. He came in earlier with yet another terrified mouse :( I managed to catch it & then release it outside & have now taken action to prevent any more murders. The catflap is locked & I've put the litter tray down, in case of emergencies.

The bloodbath I discovered the other morning really was the final straw. I hate having to shut my bedroom door at night & I dread what I'll find on the other side of it in the morning.

I just hope he doesnt take to hunting during the day when we're out.

I'm going to be a Prisoner of Work all week :( & as I've already done all the debt repayments & transfers for the next few days, I wont have much to report so may be a bit quiet.

Not looking forward to going in but am determined to stay calm, professional & above all DETACHED.

Had to get a few bits from the co op in order to introduce DD to the delights of Eton Mess - now that is the most delicious dessert ever & guaranteed to replace any lost lbs :o

    Total Grocery Spend so far = £ 97.22 / £200

I keep forgetting to buy juice for DD & also some snacks for her packed lunches but we have penty of food for meals this week so my aim is to spend no more than £10 this week ...

    Hello my lovely,

I think my new 'detached & professional' approach is going to help me & by not attending the barbecue on friday, I have made a bit of a statement.

Interestingly, Gropey did mention that I hadnt turned up & when I said that I had forgotten, he said he had thought I would & that he had asked the Goblin to ring & remind me. Unsurprisingly, my phone didnt ring at all, but then she did organize it for that particular day, knowing that I would be off work :rotfl:. Her sister who is the cleaner went to the barbecue so I'm even more glad I didnt go as I would have felt very outnumbered.

Gropey is much happier & calmer & due to go away on holiday this week. Grumpy is back to being a miserable old git, hardly spoke to me at all & I'm expecting that he & Goblin are going to gang up on me but as I'm busy being the Project Manager s Right Hand Girl, I wont have time to take any notice :p.

DD enjoyed her first day at camp, but is thoroughly exhausted - result ;) - & I have about another hour of home-job work to do but just needed to catch up with goings on here.

Whizzed into the co op on the way home & spent £ 6.08 on juice, snacks etc & received another £2 coin in my change; I'm halfway to banking again.

My pc making very funny noises like it's revving its little engine, so I'm now rather scared that it's about to be very ill :(.

Going to shut down for a bit so bye for now

I'm glad that you got home safely after the Rave on Saturday. I arrived back today after a fairly uneventful trip back to Brum although the coach was 10 mins late this morning and then it stopped in East Grinstead for another 10 mins..sigh.

S'pose I had better get a shift on and unpack my case and set the alarm for tomorrow.
