Lula, you are an:A and so organised. I too had a lovley day cleaning yesterday and am relaxing today before I go back to work tomorrow.'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Oh bless you all :A * feels all warm & loved* :grinheart
What you have to remember is :
1) I dont get out much
2) I love the sound of my own keyboard :rotfl:
3) I do like a drink now & then :shhh:
Anyway, having been a right lazy bovine this morning & not wanting to get up before 10; I didnt.
Put a wash load of towels on ( yes, I do have a washing obession) & as its raining here, they are all hung on the airer .
I thought it unlikley that death would be caused by green sprouty potatoes so turned them inot a corn chowder with the help of the stingingest onions I have ever come across, my eyes were literally streaming. Funny but they never do when I wear my contacts, but this morning I was in the most fetching pyjamas & Velma style specs combo.
On the other hand it could have something to do with there being green spouty things appearing out of the top of the onions. Either way, the soup is tasty, warm & filling & used up some dodgy veg :T. I now need to brave the garden again & the compost bin ... I do have some standards & rather than adding wellies to the aforementioned ghastly outfit, I am now fully dressed & made up.
I'm ridiculously excited about payday on friday & the chance to transfer money into my funds savings account ... oh & pay some more dosh off the CCs too :doh:I am going to town on friday & will pop into Primarni & TKMaxx in search of cheap bargainsmight just have to sneak into Faith too & check out those boots I am still yearning for - nobody tell sarah though :shhh:
Off to visit Grandmother & other relatives in a bit but will be back later & may just have to finish off that bottle of tonic I opened last night ...
Need to buy some bread on the way home so not a NSD but hoping to find very very cheap reduced loaf.0 -

Lula, quick cleaning question can you use Stardrops for everything ie floors, bathrooms etc. Ran out of all usual (cheaply bought) stuff at once and need to stock up once I get paid so looking at my options!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Re Stardrops :
I've only recently started using the stuff & swear by it for washing floors, cleaning the cooker & also spot stain removal. There is a thread all about Stardrops & its many uses over on Old Style. I'm usually a bit of an eco freak when it comes to cleaning products, but my bottle was a gift & I have to say I do love it & as we dont seem to have it in any shops round here I am using it very sparingly. As far as cleaning things like windows, mirrors & the flatscreen tv though, I have been converted by the wondrous E cloth . It's not cheap to buy, but once you have one it lasts for almost ever & as it works with JUST WATER I would never go back to window cleaner & polish & stuff. ( the furniture in my place is not varnished so just damp cloth to wipe it over) I've tried all the products for glass & windows & my previous favourite for a non smear finish was newspaper. I swear to you that an E Cloth is the business though ... just handwash it & dont use fabric softener. Enjoy
.
Need to get DD off to bed then will be back to tell you of my wondrous bargains today & plans for the week ahead ...0 -
Bonsoir tous & yes, it is me again.
In addition to previous Stasrdops question, the bottle says you can do juast about anything with it but it does have one of those scary black cross on an orange background warning markers on it. No, not plague victim, skin irritant
We had a great time visiting my grandmother, although I am ashamed to confess to having been orally assaulted by a toasted teacake, an almond slice & a couple of small chocolate biscuits.
We stopped off at the co op on the way home & bagged another loaf of bread reduced to 45p. I also opted for the medium sliced as there are more of them than in the thick sliced bags
. What's even more amazing is that DD seems to have forgotten that we ever used to have a certain 'best of both' brand for twice the price & now automatically picks up the wholemeal
. I think fish may take a while longer to become the norm, but I shall persevere. Even more exciting was finding a garlic baguette for just 20p :j. This brings my total Grocery Allowance down to 97p :rotfl:.
Supper for me was more soup ( which had a rather worrying green tinge to it that definitely wasnt there earlier :undecided) with half the garlic baguette & for DD it was the other half & remains of the pasta meal that we had on friday . Most people know it as 'leftovers', but she calls it 'second hand food' & usually refuses it ... that should give you an idea of the odd colour of the soup.
She then made me do half an hour of Just Dance which is good, as I do need to get back into it & then went off to bed exhausted leaving me to undo all the good work with a Gordon.
Finally there is finance news too :
I checked my rent account last week & discovered I was £160 in credit  which the advisor told me didnt matter ... Hmmmm I beg to differ lady, better in my account than the LA's I say, so I stopped the Standing Order for this week & have paid that annoying extra Council Tax bill instead.
Discovbered that Child Benefit has been paid so thought I might as well tidy up CC2 account which has had interest added. Paid £59.74 bringing the total owing to a very tidy £800.
Couldnt leave CC1 out so paid £50 to that then realised that I hadnt checked the balance so now have a very untidy balance of £4,048.03 .
Cant seem to find any other Direct Debits due out this week, but prefer to leave £50 in current accoutn just in case I have forgotten one, so will have to wait until friday/payday to tidy that up.
Not looking forward to work this weekbut I need to go as I've measured out the coffee I have left at home & it's only 7 cups, so I need to make sure I get my caffeine from somewhere
. i have no cup a soupls left at home ro work, so not sure what to do about lunch, might boil up some pasta & just mix with mayo & pepper or take a slice of bread. There is an egg left so I might have it scrambled on toast for brekkie & just fill up on coffees at work tomorrow.
Oh dear, I do go on
Off to check up on everyone else now,
night night
xx
